I have saw a few pictures on DW showing the "filling" abilty of BodyWrap. I also noted where Jesse said that the "filling" ability of HB was silightly better. Does anyone have any real wold experiance with this and any 50/50 of it? I know that polishing to a perfect finish is the most desired and on my own vehicle that is great and possible. But most people around here don't want or care for that. They want it to be clean, shiny, and protected. And I really like the sounds of HB.

I think Jesse may be better suited to answer that question, but from my experience
it seems like the finish turns out to be more slippery that way. I know I've heard
Jesse mention that you should work the glass coating in really well, so maybe its a
similar principle that applies in this case?

Also, when you apply it via DA at that speed, everything flashes off quickly (like
you said). That's part of what makes applying in that manner easier. You'll eliminate
99.9% of high spots and streaks immediately so it makes the final wipe down easier.

Are you using speed 1 on a Flex DA? Use speed 1 on a PC, Griot or Meg's and it won't spin. The slightest pressure and it won't spin..may as well do it by hand.

Ah, that makes sense. I wouldn't mind Jesse's opinion as well.

I use a PC to apply stuff, didn't think spinning was as important when just spreading an lsp. But this makes sense as well.

DA=Dual Action polisher. Strip by washing with Dawn or a strong citrus wash, clay if needed and do a alcohol, Eraser, Panel Wipe, or Wurth wipe down before applying HB. It is recommended to use Shine and Seal before HB, that would eliminate the last wipe down. Machine polishing will get you the ultimate shine before any LSP (last step product).

    Thanks for the input.

Is HB safe for clear bra???? Or should I stay with Turtle wax Ice???

Should you stay with Turtle Wax Ice? WHAT?

Turtle Wax and Hard Body should NEVER be used in the same sentence.

You shouldn't "stick" with TW for any reason, not for clear bra, not for anything.

Thanks but your comment does not help me. For clear bra it is recommended to use turtle wax ICE polish to maintain (per the product specification). So my question was can HB be used for LSP on clear bra???

Ok, I initially did just my wheels due to time....... well today I was able to do a quick one-step polish, IPA wipe down and applied HB over the entire car.

Usually I do not get impressed easily but this product impressed me, it had the shine and gloss I was expecting, but it was not sterile like Cquartz was on my STI. HB had depth and was super slick, ill be doing the second application in the morning, but thus far I am very glad I picked this product up.

Almost reminded me of BFWD but much more hydrophobic and will obviously last longer

With proper maintenance, how long does the paint usually stay swirl free? My car has a rather soft clear coat and it seems that after polish+protection, the swirls come back fairly soon. Loving the look, protection and praise this product has so I'm thinking of trying it out.

Yes so applying it with a DA is good, but you IME you should prime the pad a bit before. HB and BW have both been carefully engineered so that the solvents and other components dry in a certain time period. If the solvents dry too quickly the bonding may be affected. I think the best would be to get Bryan Burnworth in on this because he has the most experience with applying via DA!

I did it by hand......... no issues, having a spray bottle makes a huge difference, I was really impressed how little it took for my one car.

Is it ok on plastic trim?

I did not put any on it, i was just curious.

Im looking at getting the trim product as my lower rockers are plastic

    Greetings chaps!

The reason why I apply HB or BW with a d/a black or red pad at speed 3 is as follows:

    1. IMO/IME its faster, 10-15 mins depends on size of car.

    2. Prior to HB I was using BW and it seemed to me when applying by hand the more you worked it into the paint, the slicker it was. So I asked Jesse if BW could be applied with a d/a. Jesse said I dont see why not. So I tried it and was floored by the immediate gloss and slickness. This is even more apparent with HB IMO.

As Jesse noted, I use a spritzer to prime the pad, 2x initially and then 1x per section.

Here is a quick video I put together:
