So it looks like I'm going to get to detail this GT40: It's a race car and as such I'm wonder what would be the most appropriate LSP to use? Of course part of me is saying break out the Dodo for this one to make it look really awesome. The practical side of me however says use either Zaino or a CG's sealant. What do you guys suggest?
Personally, on a race car, I'd go with DG Trackclaw. It's slick as ...... (fill in your own euphemism), looks great, lasts long, and CLAIMS to cut track time due to it's slickness. <cough>. I'd use DG 601 first.
What's wrong with using Dodo? I mean you want the car to look good right? I see what you mean about protection but and I guess it comes down to the following. A nuba will look good but wont take a beating like the sealant will...but then again it comes down to personal taste or more what are you after. Are you after durability or just looks? For me this is easy, I'm always after looks, don't really care for durability. I just love the nuba glow and that's why I will always use carnuaba..for winters, then I would use a sealant but even then I still prefer a good carnauba..but just my personal opinion. What ever you use, take lots of pictures please :thumb:
I'm defiantly going after looks. There's absolutely nothing wrong with using Dodo. I was just wondering what some of you guys would use in this situation. Looks like I may need to order the collector's pack from Ben here shortly...LOL Don't worry there will be tons of icture: taken. This will be the coolest car I've detailed so far. Don't get me wrong the 70 GTO and 78 Phoenix are very unique cars, but the GT40 is on a totally different level.
Race cars tend to live in enclosed trailers and garages, so I'd actually be less worried about durability with one than with a lot of daily drivers.
Try anything your heart desire Littlemiss, remember it will be on the track soon. That way you get to do it again........
When doing customer cars I really set aside what "I" want to use and have a discussion with the customer regarding what their objectives are... I voice my personal preference and let that resonate with them but ultimately their objectives/desires are what determines the LSP...
