What do you guys recommend for cleaning tires?

I've read that an APC works well.

I used megs APC 1:1 for really dirty tires, dilute as needed. works great.......

Depends on the APC. I used Majestic Solutions SGS 3:1 and it did a great job of cleaning tires, but Megs APC 4:1 didn't touch most tires. I've found a really good OTC product though at the recommendation from other DB members--Westley's Bleche-White. I'm pretty sure I've got the spelling correct there. It's in the automotive section of Wal-Mart and is like $2.85 a bottle last time I checked. It works great and really pulls out the grime from tires, here's a couple pictures of it at work on a Nissan Frontier:

4:1 is too diluted IMO....... but you have to play around with megs.

AG CWC cleans tires like no other... And it is also a fantastic rim cleaner. 1 product for both, win win!

I usually use CG grime reaper, a little more diluted than normal though.

Hmm...I enjoy the various uses I can get out of some of these products....I've been considering CG Grime Reaper for exhaust...now I'm thinking I'll have to purchase some.

Lately I've been using CG All Clean APC 3:1 and it's as good as anything I've ever used. I really wanna pick up a gallon of AG CWC though real soon

I have never had a problem using Megs APC+ at 4:1. I even at good luck with it at 10:1.

1Z has an awesome APC. I can't remember what the ratio is for tires but it does work great

If your looking for OTC, I use to use eagle1 a2z wheel cleaner, it did a good job cleaning tires. Nowadays I use optimum power clean APC and it also does a good job, and I like it for its versatility for use in other areas. CG Grime reaper is also good, but based on it's description you would think it would melt brake dust, so I don't think it's as versatile if your looking for secondary benefits with a tire cleaner. I have never tried using it on paint.

Autoglym cwc also does a great job on tires, and it can be had for a good price. Some people have had good success with amazing roll off but I don't think it is as versatile. My favourite would probably go to optimum power clean, just all round goodness.

My next to buy is 1z blitz or w99!

Yup it's W99 mix it 4:1 for nasty tires.I use it all the time and doesnt smell nasty like most APCs do. Ive also learned from a few of the greats on here, do a Tarminator wipe down there will be NOTHING left on your tires, just clean. And be VERY careful with that Wesleys Bleche White, some nasty unhealthy for you and environment stuff going on in that bottle. :yikes:

I am going to be using Zep Citrus Degreaser, I have been told by JL that its a good APC. So I bough a gallon today I will be using it at 3:1 from I heard. I used to use Simple Green at 1:10 but it was only ok I wanted something better.

Hey, be careful if you try bleche white. It can be a real pain to get the residue off of some rims if it dries on there. I've also heard horror stories from many others about it.
I personally use meg's apc 3:1 and works most of the time.
I will be trying brown royal soon for both wheels and tires.
