So, just got done washing my car and have a few reviews/comments to make on some new products I used this time around. Uber Sponge: I have to say, this is an amazing wash media! I love it, it is the perfect side to get some good surface area but nice and soft, holds tons of liquid, and just foams up and soap so well. Also like how it can get into the curves of the body panels, like the rain gutters on the roof. All in all, I say this is going to be my new go to sponge and give it a 5/5 Optimum Car Wash: First thing I noticed was that it smells so good, , also at 1 oz/ gallon it provides great suds, lubrication and cleaning ability. I am use to using Megs Gold Class, and have to say that Opt is much better and prob the best I have used compared to other high mark soaps. I also used it in my foam gun and foamed up great as well. One thing I would like is a higher dilution rate but it is not that expensive so not a huge deal. Overall I say 4.5/5 (0.5 off for dilution rate, but 5/5 for performance) CG Diablo: This is the first time I really put it thought its paces, was cut to 2:1 so it was still a very gel like formula. Had it in a Tyco chem resistant bottle with gray chem resistant trigger. It works great for cleaning off brake dust off the wheels of my VW GTI that had not been cleaned in about 3 weeks. But, have to say that normally soap and water works for me just fine but just takes some work. The Diablo seemed to brake it up a bit better and cleaning was easy, and rinsed away easy. I tried it with the trigger all the way open, full stream, and didnt like it much as I could not get good coverage, so I twisted it in 50% so get a bit more fan spray. Have to say that it smells great, and will keep it just because it seems to make it a bit easy to clean the wheels and wheel barrel. All in all I give it a 4/5, would like it to be able to spray better but that is just because it is a gel. I will try a 3:1 cut next time.
Wheel cleaning for me is the same... my wheels are sealed with 3 coats of PB wheel sealer, so car wash soap cleans them right up. Now on other peoples cars... different story.... Thanks for the reviews!
Have not sealed the wheels in ages, just got some PB wheel sealer but left it at my apartment. Just never had issues with cleaning wheels, I guess I have always thought it takes a little bit of work to clean them? Oh well, Diablo is still a nice cleaner, and smells good, hehe.
I've never had problems cleaning mine either.... but I've done other cars that OPC 3:1 wouldn't even TOUCH the build up...
I think the Optimum Car Wash is one of the best smelling products I have. The only other product that smells so nice is Adam's Detail Spray...I agree on the comment about soap dilution. I wish it was formulated for 1/2 oz per gallon since it would likely be a bit cheaper per use when mixed.
Good review. I just picked up a bottle of OCW, can't wait to use it. I agree it smells awesome, but I think that Tropicare Wash 'n Wax smells better, more of a cherry scent to it.
nice reviews. I'm getting my hands on Diablo really soon, already have and love Uber sponge, as well as Optimum Shampoo.
Never liked wash and wax products because it messes up drying clothes as the wax gets in them. Also I like to have pure shampoos and then use a QD after washing to get the shine up.
