Just some gee whiz information; there is only one BMW subsidiary in the USA. Its operations are limited to manufacturing a percentage of X5 and X3 models which are sold in the USA. Additionally, BMW has a number of subsidiaries located outside of Bavaria (South Germany) which manufacture vehicles that are shipped internationally to a number of BMW franchises. I'm sure BMW has uniform standards regarding finishing products and practices which facilitate consistency amongst subsidiaries. Not attempting to stir the pot; however, your post suggests BMW vehicles manufactured outside of Bavaria are inferior to their counterparts. All of these vehicles are engineered and constructed via BMW; regardless of where the subsidiary is located.

Swissvax is also comming out with a pro wax, just for swissvax detailing centers! Have to be put on with a infrared light and can last up to 1 year.

    Can`t wait to try it..

Very cool news about the "pro" wax product.

I wouldn't use it though. I like applying LSP too much to only do it once a year.

Being an automotive editor, I'm quite familiar with manufacturers and their operations. As the mentioned vehicles have a certain percentage of local content, yes, there is a perceivable difference between these vehicles, as different suppliers often can not provide the same quality. But thank you for your post.

you say different providers..bmw is bmw and if they have a plant in south africa it is the same as the plant in munich..only munich can get answers faster.. they make the 328 in south africa..my 335 was made in germany.. x3,x5, x6, and z4 are made in the US they have a plant in china the austria all over the place.. the quality is all the same..

Can you please specify where did I say "providers"?

And yes again, quality differences can be experienced in material quality, the quality of some glues, etc. An important factor is the long term integrity, aka the feel of a car after say, 100.000 or 200.000 miles, and this is where differences are more than noticeable. BTW, 49 of BMW's suppliers are in close proximity of the Spartanburg plant, and BMW outsources around 15% of their parts from the NAFTA region. That means a healthy local content.
The South African Rosslyn plant usually produces high quality alongside the German Dingolfing plant. Nevertheless, BMW quality (initial/tactile/integrity/etc.) is falling. For me personally, the joy of vehicle dynamics (where the lead of BMW is not as pronounced as it was) is not enough to outweigh long term quality and reliability.
