WOW...too bad i already own a 3403......killer deal.... The One - the 3403 and the makita are totally different animals in my book...the 3403 is not as powerful as the Makita but in my opinion the for cars the makitas power is way overkill.....the 3403 is currently my polisher of choice....i dont even break out any of my other polishers anymore....its light, its oooh soo comfortable in your hands, has never even come close to overheating on me, smooth and just an all around awesome machine to use....if you are on the fence and all you do is cars then the 3403 is a no brainer IMHO....
Only thing I have seen people mention is that the flex doesn't have that low of a starting speed vs makita. I believe it's 900 and 600, respectively.
Hmmm I really like this deal but so many others say get the makita. Anyone elses thoughts on the 3403 :crash:
Nice deal Phil, you're awesome. This is definitely one of the best rotary starter kits I've seen. Too bad I have a Makita now, not like that's a bad thing.
I have both. And they both have a place in my arsenal. The Makita for heavy compounding,the Flex for finishing and light compounding jobs (although it would have no problem with heavier jobs) I just prefer the Makita. Both are GREAT machines but if I could only afford one it would be the Makita.
I just came inside from working on a silver 350z with my 3403 (& 3401 for that matter) along with MadOzodi, and once the garage warmed up a little, the 3403 + SIP + orange pad was as smooth as silk once the paint warmed up. The more I use it, the more I find the 1100 rpm initial start speed not an issue.
Yes, I'm very jealous of DJ_J's 3403. I'm amazed at how it's the same footprint as the 3401 yet noticeably lighter. It's gotta be the 3401's forced DA housing. I can also see how people love this machine to get into the smaller, tighter areas.
MadOzodi just likes me for my rotary!!! As he and I discovered today, and I don't think this is just the 3403, using a rotary when it's a little more on the chilly side, the Menzerna was gumming up like crazy. It was probably in the 50s or 60s in my garage, but that stuff just didn't want to play nice.
This is true. First day the 3403/SIP/OJ pad combo was workin well for JonnyV, but once he switched to the passenger side, every combo he tried had fits. Even me workin the 3401 wasn't as smooth. It's almost like Nissan sprayed 2 different clearcoats on the car. Anyway, DJ_JonnyV only likes me for my Fenix TK10 and CRSpotless!!! Bumpin for Phil cuz he's the man. If any of you out there are lookin to pick up a 3403 from Phil, you should get in on this deal.
