Are they unique products or just "I'll take one of those, and put this label on it." ??

ive tried the glass cleaner and tire shine. Both have been fantastic for me, no need for me to ever look for another product to replace them.

I cant tell for sure, they do have some unique products though. Its not as obvious as PB or even Adams.

IMO there is nothing wrong with having a company make products for you. What other choice would most companies have? Hire a Chemist who likely has no detailing supply experience, buy a shiatload of equipment that you don’t know how to use? LOL. It just gets tiring when they are all coming from one spot and most of the time the products are the same. Same color, same uses and then you can buy direct from CG for ¼ price.

However, using that company for your own formulations that would stay unique to your company is fine. Just pray that the company creating the product for you doesn’t also sell it direct for wholesale prices…….

I am interested in trying some of this stuff, but it isn't quite at the top of my list yet.

Of course not, some companies can reach out to certain markets that the manufacturer cannot.

There are contracts to make specific products "private" but certain companies cant afford/dont want to come up with the dough to get exclusivity to certain products so they have to face the consequences.

As long as these requirements are outlined before the products are created, I agree. Also, I am not centering out CG, I am speaking of any company in general.

so my question is this, if I were to contact CG, would they be willing to disclose which products they make for these other companies, and if there is an equivalent (exact same formula) sold under the CG name?

    or no?

They would never tell you. You will ask, they will wink. That is why I am disappointed when I heard someones friend didn't take a tour of where they chemicals are made...because that would answer some questions.

Never tried anything from Surf City Garage yet...I've heard glass cleaner it pretty good...
There is one thing about them, that is strange to me, they are using "demon", "voodoo", and other strange names...I wonder what's that for??? I personally don't want' my garage, to be "devil's garage"...

Don't get me wrong, a car detailing product is just car detailing product.....although those names are strange...

FMINUS how do you like the Nano Seal? I've only tried it once...I need to give it a try again.

Well that explains a lot. You see I have loved Surf City since AG started selling it. I have a ton of their products and they worked better than anything I had used before. Mind you I had never used CG's before though. I loved their glass cleaner (until I tried CG mixed with my Demin Water), SC Beyond Steel Wheel Cleaner is the best bar none wheel cleaner I have ever used. Their metal polishes do a great job. I love Beyond Black Tire shine. The Nano Seal works very well and has a very good durability.

You know it's funny now that I think about it but Nano Seal was the first sealant I had used that was basically cured in 20 minutes (hmmm what does that sound like) and Steven at SC told me I could top it after the 20 minutes with anything I wanted . I just tried the Grime Destroyer and really liked it. I also smelled the Hot Rod QD and it looks and smells just like CG's Speed Wipe. Well I can't believe my bud FMINUS held this bit of info from me! It's no wonder as much as I have fallen in love with CGs that I loved SC too!

If they are winking, they are not showing any respective for their customers and I would question their business practices. I am sure there is another side to the CG story besides the salesman that runs the outlet store.

    Smith2287 Welcome to Detailing

I have a lot of SC products, QD, aluminum polish, chrome polish, tire shine, glaze, wheel cleaner, glass cleaner. And they all worked great to me, the glass cleaner was hands down the best glass cleaner I ever used, I never had any streaks. But if they are the same as the CG counter part I will order them directly from them in the gallon and save some money. I can't believe I never read this thread before:headbang:

I guess you're referring to my friend Pat. To be honst, since he doesn't know anything about detailing let alone detailing products, he would have never known what to look for.

    Shame, really!!!

I have the Hot Rod QD...it does seem to have the same pink color as CG speed wipe. I haven't tried CG speed though.
