so I am gearing up to offer a mini detail service at a local gas station. the owner wants to see if my idea will work and is going to allow me to offer my services in the parking lot in a moderately busy traffic area, and most importantly, will be where alot of people can see what I am doing as they drive by. I will be offering these services for only 20 dollars each. please reply to this thread if you have any other ideas/services I should throw out there to offer. remember, the idea is to do "quick" details services. aquapel application to windshield 20 dollars (last 3 to 6 months strong) buff out any annoying scratches in paint 20 dollars tar removal on paint 20 dollars (using optima steamer, comes off like nothing) steam clean floor matts to look like new 20 dollars quick steam cleaning of interior carpet to remove drink stains 20 dollars steam clean rims 20 dollars headliner cleaner 20 dollars steam clean air vents to remove odors and disinfect 20 dollars (optima steamer) polish headlights 20 dollars (will also seal with klasse to prevent yellow from returning) any other ideas would be greatly appreciated godoman
Are you going to be offering any wash or wax services as well? Polishing scratches out for $20? Is that each? Per panel? You need to be more specific.
Seems to me like 20 for a scratch is a little low, considering the panel or area itself needs to be cleaned, taped, etc... I would guess it would take about an hour to do with set-up and clean-up, so is 20.00 worth it for an hour of work minus whatever materials? Personally i would go with an estimate type thing for removing the scratches.
I'm assuming you'll do vacuuming and spot cleaning? (eg. vomit) Also quote the amount of time cuz at a gas station, I want to be in and out fast. I would not want to be at a gas station for hours when I expected it would take a few mins.
ok ok ok seems there is alot of confusion here. for scratches I am talking about surface scratches, not the ones that go through the paint and hit the metal and need to be filled with temp paint and then wet sanded and then finally buffed out. I am talking about someone coming up with some scratch, a single scratch at that. something they picked up along the way and I very simply buff it out. I would steam clean the area off first to make sure there is no dirt and then would hit the scratch at a low speed with SIP or whatever I have until it is not visible. as for washing and waxing I will not be offering that service. I will be like a little quick fix "tent" shop. I think I will offer a vacum service now that you mention it. thanks for the suggestion on that one.
