Storing Microfibers

hey guys,

I'm starting to collect more and more towels. So as I am they're needing a place to stay clean and away from spiders, dust, etc as they're stored in my garage. I've stored them in a big tote before, but I don't like having to lift a massive tote of towels everytime I need them. I also dremeled some holes in the tote but then spiders got in:crash:. So now here I am looking for an idea to keep my towels nice and clean. Pictures are greatly appreciated!

I just store mine in one of those cheap plastic drawer type cabinets. No complaints, works nice.

 

Thanks, I had mine in one of those as well. Worked alright, I may end up just getting another one of those.

 

Store them in Quart and Gallon size Ziplocks. Easy to see, grab what you need + They won't get contaminated as long as there dry when you Zip it up

 

I like that idea for keeping them clean but it would be a hassle everytime I need them to have to take them out and put them back in. For the most part the work towels get wet as well

 

Well then, you could always just throw them away after each use, and order new ones :giggle:

I do the Sterlite storage containers too with the drawers. You could pick up some cheap cabinets somewhere and hang them for just your towels. Craigslist always has people updating their kitchen and getting rid of old cabinets.

I just use sterilite or rubbermaid bins. Works fine so far. I also have a couple plastic garbage cans in the garage, with the flip lids, for dirty towels. I keep my paint towels and workhorse towels in separate "dirty" bins.

The following pics are old, as I have amassed a bunch more stuff since then. But gives you an idea of how I store the towels, and it's easy to just grab a couple bins and head out to the garage.

 

I've got a three-drawer plastic cabinet that I picked up at Target for around $30. Works nicely. You can see the basic idea here:

 

I get some cheap 1 gallon zip lock bags from Big Lots. Put MFs in there about 3-4 per bag depending on how big they are. Write on them what they are used for, polishing, wax removal, sealant removal, glass, ext. Then they go in some plastic bins I got from big lots also for a few bucks. I like keeping them in plastic bags so that they stay clean and nothing can get onto them by accident like dirt or anything as they will attract it and hard to get it off.

I bought a few of these Sterilite drawers from WalMart. Perfect for storing MF's and detailing supplies.
