Soon to b Chemical Guys retailer

Hey guys i wanted to get your input. My family owns an Ace Hardware in Southern California and while I do very well with Meguiar's products I am looking to add another higher end product line to our store. I will soon be adding the smartwax line as well as chemical guys. I feel the smartwax line will be an easy seller since their marketing is so regular consumer oriented however chemical guys might not be so easy. Therefore I am asking you guys for your input as though you were just an average automotive enthusiast for my product mix.

1. Which CG car wash should I carry?
2. Which CG waxes should I carry? I would love to carry the likes of pete's 53 but I doubt my customers would justify the price tag so i would say $25 retail and lower.
3. Which CG Dressing products should I carry?
4. Which CG quick detailer should I carry?
5. CG Ecowash waterless wash system, yes or no?
6. Clay block or Clay bar?
7. What interior care products?
8. Your top rated air fresheners from CG?
9. Which sealant if any? $20 or less unfortunately jetseal would probably collect dust.:help:

 

Can't really add much input as to the customer response to having Chemical Guys available however happy to help with a couple of the product recommendations based on personal experience.

1. I'd go with Maxisuds II. The regular consumer is likely to get confused by the various solution ratios of their citrus based soaps. Maxisuds II works just as any OTC soap. Add to bucket and good to go. While I think their Citrus Wash N Gloss is a better soap, my thought is that the regular consumer is more likely to be at ease with using Maxisuds.

8. I absolutely find their SoFast Odor Eater as my go to freshener. Long lasting and really covers the odor.

 

Blitz is a great sealant for the mainstream use. One 16oz bottle will last at least 10 times around a car. Its easy to use, looks great and is under $20( I think ).

 

definitely not the clay block because it can cause loads of damage if used improperly

 

that's going to be a tough one, CG have so many products on the market that appear to overlap each other....i cant get my head around it either from a products pov

from a business pov, especially an over the counter store, you're going to want to choose products which are the most user friendly. For eg; you wouldnt stock the citrus wash, as a noob will strip his paint using the incorrect ratio and he'll just chalk it up to a crap product rather than knowing he used it incorrectly

You can add Maxi Suds II or Citrus wash and gloss, very popular shampoos.

 

I would choose Maxi SudsII over Citrus Wash/Gloss, a little cheaper and easy to dilute(ratio).
The CG SoFast Odor eater is very good as an air freshener.

Wax, maybe try collinite 845/476, they are about $15us

I guess keep the Meguiar line or the Optimum line for cleaner/dressing/polish.
In the winter, you can sell a lot of Optimum No Rinse too.
