Hey gang - I'm wondering if you guys can help me. I've decided that I want a second phone number for my detailing business. This seems to make more sense to me than to give my current mobile number - which is my only phone - out to anybody who might get a business card. So, I'm looking for an inexpensive way to do this. Note, that I don't have, or want, a land line phone. Here's the options I see... 1. Vonage: $15/month seems to be the cheapest thing they offer. Which I think I could just forward to my existing iPhone. 2. AT&T Family Plan. For an additional $20/month, I could add a second phone, including a new handset, to my existing plan. Keeping my iPhone and the business phone totally separate. As I understand it, this would be separate voicemail, separate number, separate everything. This would share 700 minutes per month across the two phones, and rollover would apply to both phones. The more I think about doing this with the AT&T Family Plan, the more desirable it sounds. How are you all doing this? Or are you just not bothering? Thanks!
add a second line and share minutes. I have a mobile and home phone for my service, and my home phone forwards to my cell phone
get a magic jack! i have one in the shop and it works good. voice mail, caller id. that way i can give out that number and if its after hours and someone leaves a voice message i get an email on my blackberry, all i have to do is call it. but i do have 2 cell phones, one for the business which is unlimited and my personal line. i dont like mixing business with personal as i was told could be a problem with an LLC. i dont know the exact details but better safe than sorry.
Yeah, that would definitely make more sense to have a separate line when it comes to corporations. I actually would do the same if I were running a corp.
