A beautiful day at Craigtoun Country park, near St Andrews today for the Scottish Italian motorshow... Bryan, Graham (Custom Detailers) and myself were there to do a few detailing demos on a rather nice Alfa Spider and to enjoy being surrounded by stylish Italian metal Detailing Demo The demo car looked pretty good parked up on show... until the sun hit it properly... So, Graham washed and dried the bonnet and the plan was to machine polish half the bonnet so folks could appreciate the difference detailing could make. Wasn't going to be an easy day, as the car was in high direct sun and ambient temperatures going above the 20s - the panels were warm to hot before the polishing began, but we made the best of the non-ideal hot conditions and just took care with the panel temps... With the paint clayed, the full severity of the swirls could be seen: Menzerna PO85RD3.02 Intensive Polish followed by Menzerna PO85RD Final Finish by Makita soon turned half the bonnet around though, despite the heat, for folks to see the difference... Excuse the oily smears from product residue there, Last Touch was drying the instant it hit the panel so residue removal of the slightly playing up Menz polishes was a long and careful process to avoid inflicting any marring back in to the very soft black paint. Folk certainly appreciated the differences though, and many were interested in honing their own wash technqiues and products they themselves could try out so I had a great day sharing some hints and tips with people there on the day The Cars Spent a good wee while wandering around looking at the cars as well - some of the paint conditions were truly shocking, but then not everyone cares about swirls and the styling could still be appreciated Beautiful colour... Looks good from this side... Ah.... My attempt at arty setting... Nice.... :doublesho Arty Spider interior shots... Some Scenic Shots of the Park Drunk seagul... Enjoy
