So tonight/this afternoon I decide to strip the GTI and put down a new layer of LSP as the salts and brine have killed the little coating I had...well it was decent weather so I strip the car with some Opt Power Clean, wash, and start claying the car...all goes well...I use my Griots Paint Prep which you spray on the car damp and let it sit and rinse off and will leave a really clean surface so I do that let it sit for a few minutes while I get my Mfs ready for the lsp. Come back and start to rinse it off, get half way done and BOOM the hose blows out near the fitting and there goes the water pressure and no more hose (this is an apartment wash bay) so I am pretty pissed now....I go grab some CG Fur Balls thinking I will just buff the paint prap off like I have done in the past NOPE...:thud:...just streaking and nothing is happening the fub-balls are crap MFs and dont do anything other then get damp/saturated in 2 seconds..go though 6 of them and still crap is all over the car...now I am just pissed...I run up to my apartment grab some Uber towels and ipa and go over the car and that is a pain as the panels are cold and the paint prep is getting hard to get off and my paint does not like ipa wipedows in higher concentration...i just whipped up a batch....well I finally get everything clean to the best I can see as it is dark and just have a overhead light going....get out my G|Tech C2 and put 2 layers down... I was going to was the car tomorrow and put down a layer of RG BL or SV Shield but now I have to wait till they get the hosed fixed...uggh! Will have to see how good/bad the car looks in the morning... End of rant...time to shower and make some stuffed chicken!
I do like ONR but for lsp stripping I rather use bucket and hose also I am faster with a bucket... Not your problem. C2 (neat) was easy to use though, slick finish....
Thanks, dinner was good and now just doing the ritual of cleaning MFs and brushes haha.. Also somehow ended up on the Swissvax site shopping ek!
Rather not pay for a hose when it is not even mine haha...it is the apartments wash bay so there hose...i put a new nozzle on it and people beat the crap out of it within 2 weeks and found it broken and in the trash...oh well.
Ank, that just sucks. Buy a decent hose and nozzle. Take the nozzle with you when you're done and the hose when you move out.
I have my own fire nozzle I used at home and take it on and off but got a decent deal on a nice one from walmart clearance so I thought I just keep it on...but oh well... Water pressure sucks really bad too but not a huge deal....thinking of a pressure washer soon may cure all my needs.
that kinda sucks...what you really need is Cam Spray 1500A. Yes, it's not cheap, but it's worth every penney...I decided that I don't need another $300+ wax, I need to upgrade my crappy Karcher with something much more durable, and got Cam Spray.
I looked at getting it but done know if the outlet near the wash has a high enough circuit breaker also the outlet has a box that does not let the large gcif plugs fit..i would have to use a extension cord.
