Bang for your buck, you could probably pick up an Optima still under warranty. Decent amount of space for your size.
My TSX is at 178k miles and still running strong without any problems. Just stay away from the 2004's as theres a common problem of the A/C not working, center console lights all going out. The door actuator goes out quite commonly as well, but thats a cheap fix
G, Is there a clause if you find the car has been repainted and not mentioned by the seller that you can give it back without any fees? Also I would lean towards the TSX if I was you. It is a good family hauler but once your children get bigger it may be a tad uncomfortable to sit in as the rear leg room gets tight for my liking. That being said, it is a Accord in Europe so it should still suffice.
Hazma, I bought the car at Carmax and they have a 5-day money back guarantee if you don't like the car (no fees involved). I took the car home on Tuesday afternoon, drove to work on Wednesday, and took the car to their shop Wed. evenings with the damages. They kept the car for two days until they informed me that they were going to replace the rear window, but the one that came was messed up so they needed the car for a few more days. Knowing how shady they were, I wasn't going to risk leaving the car there for that time and then I couldn't return it. I totally understand that I'm buying a used vehicle, so some wear and tear is expected. But the wear and tear on some of the windows was literally damage and not wear/tear. I don't mind having bodywork on a couple of panels as long as it's done properly. Tape lines were exposed and already peeling off and you can tell it was done in a hurry. Wasn't going to pay a premium for a vehicle that I can get cheaper and probably in better shape. Their certification process is a freaking joke to say the least.
I found another VW this weekend that I enjoyed more than the GLI. It's a somewhat rare color "Mocha" and it was CPO unit. Bought it a Karen Radley VW ... by far the best car shopping experience around this area. Can't wait to detail it. Consistent paint reading of 100-110 microns. It doesn't show signs of crazy rotary work.
Congrats Gianni hope this works out better than the last one. Keep us posted !!! It looks like a winner so far.
I haven't driven it much, but it is such a nice car. The wife is really happy with this purchase and usually she's always complaining that she doesn't like the cars I pick. Don't get me wrong ... the GLI was a nice ride (minus the cosmetic issues), but this one is so comfortable and we are considering expanding the family next year. I love the TSI and DSG combo ... this car has the same combo in a larger chassis.
Can you give us a little more information on it? Year, mileage, options...price if you don't mind sharing. Looking forward to sun pictures after you clean it up.
Sure ... it's a 2010 passat komfort lux. The only two options this year (IIRC) are the nav and a hard drive. This one got the navigation option. standard bluetooth. I wanted the 2010 as it has the TSI and the dsg transmission. This is the only year of the B6 platform with that combo. It has 27k miles and it was a VW CPO unit. Serviced at the same dealership I bought it from ... checked warranty work and there was none. All records included. I paid under 20k for it. I promise to do a full write up on this one once I detail it. It's a beautiful color(mocha anthracite metallic). I believe Audi has similar color, but it's darker and more metallic.
I need your caliper painting skills ... yellow calipers ftw. I think the r8 calipers fit too ... lmao
Yes I did. The biggest problem with the CC was the rear seat layout. I'm always with my daughter and two nieces. Another issue with it was the fact that you have to be a midget to feel comfortable in the back seat because there's no headroom. It's the same chassis and they drive the same, but I couldn't sacrifice the rear seat and headroom. If you look at the numbers, VW sold more CC's in 09 and 10 than regular Passats. This model is somewhat hard to find ... the Carmax nearby has approximately 8 CC's in stock.
Yeah, I noticed the 2X2 configuration too. I kinda like the interior (front) layout. Especially the ribbed seats. I'm also in the market for something new too. Really like the Passat Wagons, but also hard to find. Bacially, the 2.0T is a winner in my book.
Great purchase G, glad you finally got what you were looking for after all that hassel. If you need an extra hand one of these days let me know!
We need to get together for sure. We can help each other out whenever you have a minute. Did you get a bigfoot?
