Looking around I do not see many paint cleaners/pre-wax cleaners that are both nuba and sealant friendly. What are some good cleaners that are friendly for both? i.e. pretty much leaves nothing behind but just does some cleaning. I know IPA is what many of you guys will say but looking at other alternatives, I currently have Griots Garage Paint Prep but it needs 5 min dwell time and just a mess sometimes to use. Looking at other options.
Have TC Citrus wash for that, but just looking at something were I do not have to was the whole car. But that is not out of the question.
Prime is a cleaner and lays down a base of protection, sealant. So if you just want to clean the surface for wax then you only need to use one, no need for both. Prime will though give you a good base for another sealant or a nuba wax that is durable. So if you go with Prime you dont need to IPA.
You could just do wash, clay, prime, sealant, wax. The IPA is kind of overkill as prime will clean the paint just fine.
+1. Only IPA if you are polishing to remove all polishing oils so no hologramming etc is hiding. The Prime is all you need after claying before LSP application.
I think both have oils in it which are not good for sealants to be applied after using them. But, both are good pre-wax cleaners that clean the surfaces of polishing residue and old wax to get a good bond for nuba waxs.
