I got tired of having to reach over a toolbox for some tire dressing, or through three layers of randomly-sorted items to get to that one thing that I just knew I needed...only to find it was somewhere else. Argh! :doh: So, I set about organizing my things, and while I was at it, I took some pictures, since we all love pictures... Buckets are now under the stairs, where an old turkey fryer and some house paint used to live. Pictured: Griot's bucket, Lowe's clear bucket with grit guard and lid. Not pictured: two spare 5 gallon buckets, one for wheel cleaning, the other serves as a "hamper" for microfibers that go into the wash: The microfiber is still in a bit of disarray, but it's also in a "system" where I always know what stuff lives where. Some of it, at this time, was in the wash, but here's an idea: Three Vroom drying towels and a dozen Rag Shack "Super Fly" towels live here: Two Rag Shack "Amazing Dryers," along with a bunch of Pro Line grout sponges and "Grecian Wonder Sponges" live in this bottom drawer of a 3-drawer cabinet: I probably go into this drawer more than any other one. Loads (at least 50) of Costco yellow microfibers, along with a dozen Majestic Solutions window towels (blue, near left): All the Ubers, the really super plush stuff I've got, and some applicators go in this top drawer: This is a tool box that I got on closeout at Home Depot for $10. In it live my Makita and my Porter-Cable, along with backing plates and some of my pads. The pads need to be moved elsewhere, but I haven't decided where yet: On the left hand side of a car as it pulls in is this small collection of stuff: Which means most of the detailing stuff is on the right. The impossibly large Ridgid 5.5HP wet/dry vac, which breaks down into a blower, in front of my shelves full of goodies: On these shelves, stuff is usually about two products "deep," with the most frequently used stuff at the front, of course. Diluted Wheel Brightener, for instance, lives in front of the full strength stuff. On the bottom shelf are my gallons of stuff, along with some other concentrates, and some solvents: Second shelf from the top is where the interior stuff lives. I like to write the contents of a spray bottle in multiple locations, so no matter how I have something stored, I can tell what's in it: Third shelf from the bottom has some exterior stuff. Wheel stuff, APC, and various dressings. All labeled, of course. And the blue tape lets me change the labeling without having to fuss with my labelmaker...looks a little less classy, but takes less time: Shelf 4 has some spray LSPs, some quick detailers, and my polishes. This is a good example of how I've got stuff two and three deep on these shelves, in addition to going across. In the Polish section there's Meguiar's at the back, Duragloss and Scholl stuff in the middle, and Menzerna in front. From highest cut to lowest, left to right: Fifth and final shelf has clay lube and ONR, clay, steel wool, and empty spray bottles on it. I just used the Bilt-Hamber clay for the first time yesterday, and man, am I sold on that stuff: Finally, stealing a page from JL, the LSPs stay in the crisper drawer of the fridge. I mostly started keeping them in the fridge in the summer months, but now it's become habit. Thanks, Justin! There's a fair number of your towels in some of those drawers. Super Flys FTW! I was just using some of them today in fact. In addition to being one of my favorites, they're proving very durable. Yeah yeah yeah...you caught me in "mid organization." :lol: Actually probably right before the first pass. Took a couple tries to get it situated in a way that made sense to me, and didn't have me fishing around for things. Today when I used the Scholl S03+ sample you gave me (for instance), it fell right to hand. Also, I think that this way, if I decide to go to a meet or to a friend's place to detail elsewhere, having the most frequently used stuff at the front of the shelves will help a lot. It's so much easier to work when you know where your stuff is!
