Its funny I saw this thread b/c just the other day I was thinking about how I was SO into BMX back in the day, and just fell out of love with it. If only I had held onto that bike. I think I let it go for a couple of bucks at a yardsale along with my Vision Street Wear clothes LOL. Speakin' of Pitale... the guys collection is getting NUTS!! He bought 3 classic schwinns while I was up there at the start of the month... 3 bikes in 2 days!?!?
yeah I'm not like him but I'm trying to get 5-6 bikes that I would have loved to own back then... Right now I'm building out an 85 Pro Performer... Picked up 2 sets of Superlace wheels sick!!!!!
are kids still into to bikes these days? its not like it used to be for sure. they were cool bikes though..
I love the movie Rad. You can watch the entire movie on YouTube. It's in 10 parts. I used to ride a redline. I was always jealous of my neighbor because he had a GT Performer. Now that my kids are interested in going the bmx/skate parks I am looking at buying a bike for myself.
Wow, this thread brings back some good memories. Back in the day I used to have a 1987 Haro Sport Freestyler Blue /Black/Chrome frame w/white mags not the wires and a 1987 Mongoose M-1 Mag in Malibu Mint.
I used to ride a dyno, and had a haro master frame before that. i was so stupid to sell the haro frame it was a 80's model, and was so pimp. I've been thinking about building my dream bike...now that my pockets are deeper than they were when i was 14 yrs old. lol I want a sabbath so bad.
great great great thread. i had perfomer gt and a pirahana ...both all black...rode them until mountain bikes took over in the early 90's
Hah, yeah well my first bike was a Dyno too, forgot which freestyle model it was though. I think it was the Air. I also found my blue Haro Dave Mirra frame, haha. All my frames are thrashed but I think I'm going to pick up a new frame with a Spanish bottom bracket and integrated headset. That technology is really that much better. I always hated dealing with American bottom brackets... such a pain.
