I will be detailing a bright yellow Porsche 911 tomorrow...and I'd like to know which of the few waxes and sealants I do have looks best on yellow? I've got: Zymol Carbon P21S Carnuba Autoglym HD Collinite 845 Menzerna Powerlock I've also got Zymol Cleaner wax and Megs Gold Class but I don't like using those on customer's cars...the cleaner wax is a pain in the ass to use (dries before you finish a 2'x2' section) and I just feel cheap using the Gold Class as I know I've got better. I know that's a limited selection but as I've never done a yellow car before I really dunno which would look best. Thanks! Clark
Its all going to depend on what you are trying to accomplish, looks or durability. The P21S will be good for a couple months, Powerlock 3-4, Hi Def and 845 4-5. As for looks, I would say Powerlock or AG HD will give the most depth. Maybe AG over Powerlock. That will look stunning.
Thanks! The car is an '01 (I think) and only has like 9,000 miles on it so naturally durability isn't a huge concern. I'm doing a write-up on it and I'll tell the car's story, it's kinda special to me
Last weekend, I did a subtle detail on my wife's imola yellow A3, and I topped it off with menzerna powerlock(left to dwell for 12 hours), wiped it off, and then I topped it with the AG HD(left to haze for about 15 minutes indoors) wax and the gloss is out of this world! I now call it the winning combination. My original plan was to acquire some dodo juice banana armour(meant for warm coloured cars). I will hold off till next season for this now. Looking forward to the photos of your detail.
I do have to say that Powerlock + AG HD is a winning combo, that's what I have on my GTI right now and I'm really impressed with it. I'll start with the Powerlock and if I feel that it needs more gloss or anything I'll top it with the HD
