    Hey guys and girls,

last week I polished some water marks that weren't removed by washing or claying. I used Menzerna Power Finish PO203S on a green uber DD pad. They were successfully removed upon inspection with my LED lenser. However, after 4 coats of wax, and driving about for a few hours, I noticed the spots reappeared (they are only on the top of the rear bumper).

Does anyone know why the spots would reappear? I know it didn't rain so they are not new, and they won't wipe off. I know they disappeared when I polished them. This seems really odd to me. Maybe I need to step up to SIP to really get them?

Are you sure its water spots? Were there any other water spots on the vehicle exactly like these, that you polished out, and didnt come back?
Could it be something that etched into the paint ?
Have any pics of them ?

Did the SIP hide them? Did you do an IPA wipe down after SIP?

I don't think they've etched because they came after a rain storm and several days of driving, no other spot on the car had spots than the rear bumper top surface. Plus the car is garaged, idk what it is. I think I'm going to just have to wash it, wipe off the wax with IPA and then repolish it.

I don't mind some touch up work ;)

If it's water spot then you can try some vinegar.
It's a weak acid that'll eat away the calcium deposit.
