Ok, not a big impressive detail (actually not a detail at all just a wash and wax) but after a pre winter 2 step polish this is what was due...

Snow was in the forecast for the night so I was really just cleaning up for a date I had tonight... didn't have enough time to go for perfection.. - 1.45 hrs total

Before's (gotta love living in a snowy region with salty roads... damn I miss cali)

4* APC sprayed in engine bay and scrubbed (yeah Carlos, I am trying to copy your "in process pics".."Trying" is the key word)

After sprayed and scrubbed bay was rinsed, alternator and belts were covered and cd-2 was applied

While CD-2 was sitting for 20 mins (per instructions) wheels & wells were done and paint was rinsed with water

    Paint rinsed:

tools & products used on wheels (tools = HF wheel brush, megs wheel brush, meg's slide lock brush, generic brush, SC beyond steel, meg's NXT tire foam cleaner)

    Wheel, well & tire clean
    [IMG]

paint was washed & rinsed - two buckets with DP extreme foam (thanks Rocco)

LSP was max wax (againg Rocco traded me for this) - here's the wax max curing
    [IMG]

Max wax was a pleasure to work with... I am usually heavy handed on my lsp but with this product it went on so thin without effort.. removal was a breeze...

Tires and mudflaps saw CG VRP (thanks wolfpacker)... This product is AWESOME.. a bit more sheen than SC beyond black perfect amount of sheen for me.. If durability is comparable to SC I will be switching...

    Wells saw Stoners more shine

    Windows saw SC clearly better...

i have so many layers of sealant and wax on my paint for winter protection i do not think I can give an account of the "look" of max wax.. when the big thaw happens I plan on doing a straight up max wax treatment to see if it lives up to the hype regarding how ot looks on silver metallic flake

    It's really 120K...

i planned on taking pics of the engine nay after if cured from the ride home but my battery on my camera was dead and I had to get ready to go out... I'll snap some pice tomorrow

i'm tired as hell going to bed now.. Oh yeah, after tonight I have realized Philipino women ROCK!!!!:worship::woot::pimp::cool2:

MotorCity. Looks great man. I wish I had access to a shop like that. How was that NXT tire cleaner?? I've got a couple of cans of it and havent used it yet. Good job man. Want it be nice when spring gets here. All of us can freak the neighbors out more hehehe!

    Thanks heath,

the megs cleaner is good... not as good as ARO but I got it on the cheap at big lots so I am satisfied... I wish the foam lasted a bit longer.. My conditions are a bit severe due to snow & salt so I am sure that really pushes the envelope on the ability of the product...

I will say using the rack makes it so much easier - I see areas that I would normally have to lay on the ground to see... i cant wait to use the rack to do a full polish!!

Man, I cant wait for spring... as it is now my car stays clean for no longer than 24hrs so it really makes me evaluate how in depth I choose to get in the wheels and wells...

Thats where I got my NXT tire cleaner. We dont really have alot of salt problems around here. There is some frozen ice on the ground right now though. I havent got to do a good clean up on my car since new years day or maybe a couple days after that. Its driving me crazy.

I can see where the lift would really come in handy if you were really doing an in-depth job of detailing a car. It would be nice to have everything eye level

Salt is my nemisis right now... arch enemy....lol.. Yeah we have frozen crap all over right now.... It really blows to not even be able to keep you ride clean for more than 30 miles...:complain:

I kept the rack on the ground while applying lsp to the roof, hood and pillars after that I raised it to keep it eye level as you said..

I wish there was a drain under the rack so I could hit the under carriage..

thanks bro -Yeah, bad stuff indeed... I so long for the days of living in So-Cal... maintaining the "perfect finish" was childs play compared to in Michigan...

Man, I had so much fun with this girl and her friends.. they were teaching me bad words in phillipino... man, I am hooked!!

I cant wait for the weather to warm up so I can remove the seats and clean - extract, remove wheels, do an undercarriage scrub and PW, paint my calipers... Ahhh, I am getting excited already!!!

You really :ar15: that salt and grime away! I have to admit I am now very jealous of your set up. Where the heck is that! :druling: :woot: you have access to a freakin large heated garage with a lift! you lucky bas###d!!!!!! I told you would love how easy the Max Wax is to work with!
I can't believe it has 120K miles! :thumb: It has been very well maintained! Thanks for the pics and write up!

Very nice! Our looks similar to our 03, but we have it on steelies right now. The 4cyl accord is a blast to drive. My dad bought the 08 V6 and the 03 I4....he kept the I4. The ride just feels more nimble.

Do you take off your mud flaps when you wash? I find that a ton of salt accumulates there.

Awesome work there bro! I told you the VRP was the shizz. Man that Honda looks amazing especially considering the conditions you have to fight. Man I feel bad that I was complaining the other day when it finally snowed here and it never even had accumulation. So glad I don't have to deal with that stuff. Really can't wait to see what you think of the CD2. Well I'm off to clean the Volvo with my new mop I'll let you know how it does!:applause2:

I wish I didn't know what these damn winters were like on my paint... man, it's a biatch!!

That is our "vehicle lab/prototype garage " at work... I am very spoiled, on my lunch break I also did an oil change and changed my oxygen sensor... My car had a very nice day yesterday!

We actually have 4 lifts and the alignment rack I was using:cool2:

    Thanks again for the trade!!!:worship:

:cool2: I cant wait to use it a bit more and with nothing under it to really get a feel for it... I was very pleasantly surprised at the ease of application/removal...

You cant wait:paranoia: HELL I can't wait for a REAL detail!!!strip all the layers off, polish her up again, and use all the new products I have that have been sitting on my shelf all winter:pimp:

I usually dont post my wash and wax jobs BUT this is the first traditional wash (ONR) I have done all winter - so I was itching to snap some pics and share.. I was begining to feel like the old man in the corner of the bar that just sits there and watches everyone....:waiting2:

    Go Honda...lol:worship:

I agree, for a 4 cyl it is very fun.... The weight dist just feel a little more balanced than the 6cyl of the same year...

Yeah I take the flaps off as well... You aint lying they are a TRAP for crap...

Thanks for looking out for me with that tip!!!

See wolf, the thing is you and I enjoy the same "look"... That's why our little trading, suggesting product deal works out SOOO well... That's why when I really like something I tell you about it and tell you I'll buy it from you if you dont like it...

This poor damn car see's no less than 400 miles a week.. It is a constant chore to keep it looking presentable!!!

I will take some engine pics soon for ya!

Thanks man.... I was thinking "too bad I cant have a detail fest here"....:cool2:

Very nice detail there Motor :wicked: the area you have to use is just wicked a lift, a washing bay :woo: :woo: man you need to hit that area every day for a quick wash on your vehicle :thumb:

I enjoyed the detail my friend, you did a good job...I'd love to get my self a lift, it would make polishing a vehicle so easy but I agree with you it makes areas that you would normaly just give a quick glace much easier to work with...I look forward on getting my lift :woo:

I know what you mean about maintaining your vehicle during the winter, I'm glad I got the rust bucket Jeep to drive around in the winter and my other vehicles stay in the garage nice and clean...well untill I take them out for a drive and then they are dirty again and need a good clean.

Oh and glad to hear I'm not the only one that is going through a detailing withdrawal lol, it's so hard just sitting around not detailing...I can't wait to summer :applause2: :applause2: :applause2:
