My latest project was a 2007 Mustang GT Shelby Edition. It takes the basic Mustang GT, drops the car 1.5”, tightens up the handling, and beefs up the horsepower and torque to around 325 and 330, respectively. It is a blast to drive, and the car also had aftermarket mufflers, tint, spoiler, and grill with additional headlights. The car only had about 15k miles on it, but had never had a proper detail (at least not in a while). I ended up initially washing the car 3 times (2 to clean, 1 after claying), and must have scrubbed the tires 5 times with various degreasers to get the dirt off. Once cleaned and clayed, the swirls really came out in a bad way. I experimented with the Porter Cable and Makita polishers, eventually settling on a 3 step process with the PC: • 1.Orange pad and Menzerna Super Intensive Polish • 2.Green pad and Menzerna Super Intensive Polish • 3.White pad and Menzerna PO85rd (Micro Polish) This produced great results, although the polishing stage alone took nearly 17 hours. All told, from polishing, to the engine bay, to the interior, the car took just under 32 hours of work. Preliminary shots, plenty of dirt and grime Borla exhaust polished out with CG Metal Shine Started in on the clean-up. Car was foamed and washed two times with CG Citrus wash, didn't find any protection, just lots of dirt. Washing out the jambs Touchless air dry (sorry, blocking the view of the Air Wand) Post wash, some of the defects I found Warning: The following swirls are not for those with heart conditions or weak stomachs... Clay picked up quite a bit, this was after 1 panel Onto correction, enjoy. lower left corner still uncorrected in this shot Hood latch scratching from the cables After correction Spent a bit of time hand polishing the wheels, but did not fully correct as the owner was not super excited about wheel correction. Top half of spoke after a bit of hand polishing Snow? Dandruf? Nah, just hard work polishing. Slapped down a coat of Mirror Wet Shine Decided to try spreading CG 50/50 'nuba by hand...didn't really like this technique, will use an applicator from now on Onto the interior and engine bay Muck picked up from interior degrease Early morning leather cleaning with Leather Master (still in my PJs...) Very nice job. That paint was hacked. I dont understand how people let their car's get that bad. Its just abusive.
Yup, I am working on educating the owner about proper wash and dry technique so this doesn't happen again!
Great work man I love how it came out that some true correction. Looked like how my 04 Black Mustang GT looked when I bought it. Now it looks alot better, I still need to order a Makita 9227 CX3 so I can get better correction than what I got using my PC.
Awesome job! I am guessing that stang puts down a lot more power than 325/330. Looks like he supercharged it!
Now that I think about it, you're probably right. I believe the SC is part of the Shelby package, I believe output numbers are what the owner told me.:shead:

No those are Shelby output numbers. I just looked up the standard specs and a s/c is not part of the standard package could of added it on at the dealership or aftermarket for sure though. I bet that thing screams.
It is added they come stock naturally aspired , I noticed it had a twin screw on it but I didn't mention it because I figured no one else would notice good eye.
Its crazy how bad this car looked before you started. I coudnt even dream of having my car look that bad. It looks like he washed it with a Brillo pad.:crasy: Awesome job!
