This job took me about 20 hours, give or take a few... This is a huge car!
    But I`m satisfied :applause2:

Beautiful work Marwin! Looks better than new :)

Why did you go powergloss -> sip -> 106ff?
I would go straight to 106ff after powergloss..

    Thanks ;)
I tried that, but I couldn`t get totally rid of the marks after PG with just 106FF, so I simply had to go for SIP in between.
I`m going to try out Scholl, as soon as Pirex provides it, maybe that will work better.

Well done there Marwin, vehicle looks gorgeous and well done one the polishing process.

Mercedes clear coat are something else, specially on black colour vehicles. Black is very rewarding but takes a significant amount of work to get it to show presentable.

You both have done a great job, well done :applause: :applause:

Which pad did you use with pg?
I get no holograms at all after pg and yellow sonus on the mercedes paint, so I went straight to 85rd and a blue sonus pad..
On another mercedes I did, I got the marks after wool and pg out hvit a white sonus pad, and 106ff..

Scholl is on the way for me to, a discovery kit. Really looking forward to it. :)

    Thanks :)
Yeah, can`t drink exclusively Coke all the time, you know:drinking2:
Thank you, Nica! Yeah, I still have much to learn about how to "cut corners", regarding choice of pads and such. But that`s half the fun: to learn as you go! :applause2:
I did a silver Merc two weeks ago (his wife), and experienced something similar to what you refer to as sticky clearcoat. So this black one was much more rewarding, and "easy", considering the main polishing part of it all.
    Thank you :)
    Yellow Sonus.
Strange... But it wasn`t holograms, it was regular swirls/scratches! Sonus white with 106ff wouldn`t remove them... But, I`m going to keep experimenting with different combos, and get som other pads too. Per today I only have Yellow, White and Blue Sonus, plus Lake Country yellow.
Started with the LCs first, so that might be the answer, come to think of it... My partner came after me with SIP and 106ff, so when I switched to Sonus yellow, I`m not sure if 106ff alone would be enough... Maybe it would...
Oh, well. The car turned out great IMO, made a decent correction to the paint, so I`m happy
