So, I am looking for a good durable sealant that would look good under a nuba, RBOE or BoS once I get it. I using WG DGPS currently and just want to try something different.

    Main Criteria:
    1. Decent durability
    2. Complements nuba wax's

What are some options or sealants that people are using?

I was thinking of Opti-Seal, Ultima PGP, Werkstat Acrylic Jett, Four Star UPP

Thats what I was going to suggest is WG-DGPS...The only other sealant I use is Menzerna FMJ. It's a nice sealant you can go over it in about an hour...:thumb:

I just used the new version, 3.0, as I got a sample of it from my last AG order, anyone know if they improved the durability of it considerably.

you can use 3 coats of PGP (12 hours apart), then top it off with RBOE. My other choice would be Four Star UPP x2 topped with RBOE.

I've never had a problem with the durability. Why do you think it's so bad...Thanks.

I love 2 coats of UPGP and one of Opti-seal topped with RBOE. That's a kick ass combo.

I was not getting the durability I liked out of the org DGS, around 1.5-2 months. I wanted a sealant that would last around 3-4, if possible, and do not know if the new 3.0 version would be up to that.

CG JetSeal or Blackfire Wet Diamond. Though I like the finish on Jetseal a little bit more.

I just got a brand new bottle of the 3.0 and I put 2 coats on my wrangler. It's been a month already and still going strong. The timming is good for this. The test has started. I hope I don't get disappointed. I had high hopes for DGPS.

I found out from 911Fanatic if you put 2 coats of FMJ and covered it with your favorite nuba You can get aleast 4 months of durability out of this combo. I've tried this combo and it works very well and the FMJ is a pleasure to work with...Just a thought...:thumb:

If your looking for more than a month. Stay away from Jetseal, unless you use a topper to prolong the life. DGPS 3.0 has great durability. Did you do a IPA wipedown before application?

RBOE by itself is fantastic. One of the best in looks and durability.

I'm glad you're enjoying FMJ Buddy. :thumb:

I'm glad someone else here isn't pleased with JS109. The only thing I use it for now is chrome. The stuff is amazing on chrome plus I feel that it has some type of cleaner in it since stubborn spots will disappear when I apply it.
As far as sealant, I wish I could comment on all the others but I won't stray away from FMJ again ESPECIALLY with all the hype regarding JS.

I have yet to use ROBE but I use FK 1000p before applying other carnaubas. It last long, looks fantastic, apply thin and it removes easily, as soon as it is buffed off it is ready to be layered or topped, no 12+ hour cure time

I did not do IPA wipedown before, I did do one this this last detail with 3.0. I have read that JS durability is not that great and not as good as some of the other sealants out there.

I am using 3.0 this time around and will see how it holds up, keep us updated on the durability that you are getting.

I have not tried Blackfire, it does look tempting. Have you used BF? If so how did you like it?

Under a nuba I would go with Jetseal 109 or Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection. I've used Jetseal sooooo many times under a nuba and I get 3-4 months easy out of it. You cannot find many sealants that look as good as Jetseal or Blackfire under a nuba. I have Blackfire under Raceglaze 55 on my bimmer right now and I'll let you know how it holds up.

If not using Jetseal or Blackfire I would say Tropi Care Sunburst Sealant. My fourth choice would be 4 Star.

Hmm have you tried out the Juiced edition panel pot supercharged? If so how did you like it, maybe that would be a good replacement for the setup detaildoc is recommending.

Also, what durability have you gotten from blackfire I saw you used it on your wife's BMW.

I just used it for the first time today with the fire/ice combo. It wasn't that great by itself, it didn't add much depth to the paint (dark silver metallic) like jetseal does. I think if you only want one, go with Jetseal, but if you wanna try both, I've heard nothing but great things about bf and am looking to see how long the protection lasts.
