Latest Purchase

Got around to picking up some more goodies. I'm really stoked that I finally got my own rotary now, it's been a long long wait. I'll start off with my cart though. I found this at Costco for $40. It's industrial strength, very easy to assemble, and great quality.

Took care of my bottles:headbang:





I picked up this flashlight thanks to the referral of chollas on here. Works great for $20, however it's not the best at showing defects on our light blue matrix.




Had a "DOH" moment here, I just threw in my new Proline Grout Sponges along with some of my MF towels in the wash and they came out orange:thud:. They were originally yellow, oh well...


I also took advantage of Chris' BOGO on Cookie Monster towels. I took some pictures of them compared to a few other towels I had.

Now the goods...I had to wake up at 7:00AM to go pick this up from Ken:gasp: It's been a long wait, but I'm sure it'll be worth it.

I've done that with the sponges. The top one looks like a reg Proline sponge, is it the same softness?

Yeah they both are, I found a "bone" shaped one and the normal rectangular one. They both feel the exact some and were the same price.

Just polished a test panel on my dads matrix. The paint isn't the best on it. I'm loving how smooth and light the flex is! Much better than the PC, glad I went with the Flex. Thanks so much Ken!

 

Nice! I've seen that cart/shelf thing at Costco before, nice to hear it's well made. I may have to step up myself.

Regarding the Flex - is that the DA or the rotary?

 

Its the lightweight rotary. Want one? You know you do!

It's the lightweight rotary as Ken stated. The cart is really nice, it'll help so I don't have to run back to the cabinet all the time.

 

I love the cart and sprayer as well ...

how is the flex? Im planning to buy a machine, can u suggest flex or DA? Im not going to buy rotary at the moment ... afraid to burn the paint later hehe ... if flex as save as DA ... I will consider take flex instead of DA ... tq

 

ahwil_lim,

You can still burn the paint with ANY type of machine polisher. Even with a rotary, it's more difficult than you think. Pay attention, take your time, mind what you're doing and don't be sloppy -- you should be fine.

If you're JUST starting in the machine polishing world I suggest you get the Porter Cable 7424XP to get a feel for the rhythm and flow. If you want to just jump right into the rotary world, watch all the videos posted here and check out the lightweight rotary that xfactor78 bought -- I have one also and I absolutely love it.

thanks for ur suggestion ... how about metabo rotary? is it good and light?

I might go for PC instead of rotary ... bcoz I hv never ever touch polisher machine ... as u said, to get a feel for the rhythm and flow by using PC (its consider safe for newbie) ...

The metabo is a bit heavier I believe. I would suggest the PC first and then move to a rotary polisher.

Thanks! I didn't get the GI pads because I didn't feel like spending the extra money. I'm planning on maybe next spring or summer
