Just got a D40!

I think many would disagree with Ken Rockwell. The 18-105 is better than the 18-200 by many reviewers from an optical perspective.

 

I love Ken's site... but it obviously is just a single guy's opinion...

With Kens site, more than anything else, he tries to keep it simple for you. Yes, one lens may be "optically" superior, but the other lens may be almost as good but more versatile at the same time making it a better value. Ken isn't about buying the latest and greatest, he's more about buying smart.
