There is no doubt about it; it's a very very good wax. The only thing is that you'd really have to see it in real life to fully appreciate it. A camera will not pick something like that up.

 

So be honest with us Nica... r u going to the crystal pot at $20,000... or the humble black jar at whatever price it comes. $1000 I think or what is like $5-10?

Na, I'm only getting the $1,000.00 or so but all in due time. $20,000.00 I would have to dig on my other, deeper pocket but I got other plans all, in due time.

:nod: I totally agree with you Motor, seeing it, feeling it, removing it and standing in front of the vehicle is completely different compared to seeing pictures.

I see no difference between these pictures and those of people finishing cars in a $30 dollar wax. Can anyone elaborate how and why a $20,000 or even a $1,000 wax is better than a $30 paste wax?

Great detail work but is it in the wax or the paint prep?

Wouldn't you all laugh if you found out that the majority of these waxes were made by some guys in a place like..........oh say, New Jersey?:giggle:

 

Again, some of the main attributes cannot and are not communicated via photos... not saying one way or the next if this was is as good as one would hope since I have yet to see it in person

 

Well this is just my opinion but I've noticed that going from a $30.00 or $100.00 wax compared to a $2,000.00 wax the durability and the depth that they add. I agree prep work is very important but toping it off with a wax any wax for that matter is just the icing on the cake. I personaly prefer to try things out for my self rather then just go by pictures, pictures look good and all but there is nothing like experiancing it for your self. As to where they are made or who made them, that's irelavant to me. I could care less who the chemist is or where it's made if it pleases me and I'm happy with the purchase it's all good to me.

But that's just my opinion.

 

Carlos..i understand your latter statement ..let me add by saying that i'm not trying to take anything away from the sellers or sponsors..but its only
wax bro...does the $$ justify the means ? what if this detailing thing is just a bug and eventually you grow tired ..

kinda like having a crush on the hottest girl in school eventually you get over it and move on...your out nothing...i understand your personal preffernce when it comes to new products but in the end its not investment and your left with an item you'll never be able to re-coupe your loses...put your kids through college,spoil your wife or buy yourself a Ferrari :thumb:

 

Car looks great and mark does some great prep work on his cars. As far as the wax goes it looks very good but there a lot of very good waxes on the market for a fraction of the cost. I don't care how much money I have I find it hard to justify spending that much money on a wax. The difference in looks is so small if any I just can't justify it. I love my cars and I would spend the money if the difference was significant. I have been having a hard time trying to justify spending $200 plus dollars for some SV Concorso.

 

Well I understand where your coming from joe but see wax has turned to a collection for me, will I grow tired of detailing oh probably not, specially with the vehicles I plan on purchasing. There is no way I'd let anyone else detail my vehicles..well as long as my health is good I'll keep on detailing. See I detail because of pasion, not becuase I'm trying to get rich by it, don't get me wrong I enjoy getting paid for detailing but it's the end results that I'm after.

As far as it being an investment, I don't see purchsing Divine as an investment. I just see it as I like it, it got my interest, I can afford it why not add it to my collection.

See when I purhcase my Ferrari, if I can't afford the mentainance of the vehicle well there is no way I should even consider purhcasing a Ferrari. But if you have enough money to spend $300,000.00 on a vehicle a $20,000.00 wax is nothing compared to it...well it's all relative but really it comes down to personal taste....I mean I love collectin wax, some people collect wine, or stamps, or baseball cards me I want wax. Best thing is that my vehicles will always look there best..hahaha even the rust bucket Jeep that's going to get a coat of Divine or Mystery or what ever else I got in my collection why just becuase I want to play around with it.

But like I said that's just me lol..maybe a little :crasy: but hey that's what makes me happy lol.

 

intersting thread, lots of great info here.

I figure i should touch on a few issues.

First, its a persoanl thing, some people will find value in these expensive waxes, others wont. Its like anything in like. Some people find value in a $1000 a plate dinner, others wont. Is the food better? well that depends on who cooks it and what you decide tastes better.

second, the looks are diffrent, the wax is diffrent between every wax on the market no matter the price. Thats why we have diffren waxes. I have noticed a diffrence in the higher end waxes. They do soething to the paint I have no seen in the less expenive waxes. For example PS is a good wax, people love it. It me it looked sterile and plain. I have noticed a chactersitc from some of the higher end waxes such as Z concours tat I have not noticed in other waxes. Thats a life to the paint. Its hard to explain, but if you have tried it you will understand

as for prep being important, yes its hugly important. If you start with a bad basethese waxes will not show well. a great example of this is vintage, it shows terbily on an uncorrectd finish, every scratch and sirl is maginfied. However this is true on any wax.
The paint nees to be corrected fro anywax to look great.

I like to compare wax to icing on a cake ( i know i know). If you start with a crappy cake no matter hoe good the icing the cake will suck. You can make a great cake, have no icing and its still a grat cake. you can also have a great cake with crappy icing, will he cake still be geat yeah, but its just not the same as with good icewhen you have a great icing and great cake you have achived something the others couldnot. Its the same with paint, you need to have perfect paint for the wax to show its true colours.

is it worth it? well thats a personal questions. I feel it is. However before you go and trash a product regardless of price, ive it a shot. Untill you try it you will never know.....bt then again I guees ignorance is bliss
