whoa, seems im a little late for the party here. well, i guess in my defense i'll throw in my two cents on the issue at hand:

i would like to first and foremost state that i in NO WAY intentionally tried to "sand bag" the monthly contest, or maliciously sneak in under the radar, or try to do anything sneaky for that matter. i honestly misunderstood the terms which outlined what a "professional" detailer are according to the contest. yes, i do work full time as a detailer for a dealership, and have been for over a year and a half now, and yes i do my own detailing on the side on the weekends. i live on my own, and pay my own bills, and do not make THAT much money at my full time job, and rely heavily on my sidework, which i post here. i am somewhat flattered that some of you here regard me as a professional, but in my humble opinion i do not feel that i am at that level. my perception of the "professional detailer" as outlined as those who are banned from entering the contests, are those like Phil and Ken from Autowerkes. guys that own their own shops etc. i admit fault in my misinterpretation and take full responsibility for my apparent wrongful entering of the contest. for those of you who are upset with me over this, all i can say is im sorry you feel that way. frankly, in my opinion, its carlos job to handle situations like this, and no one elses. and carlos did just that. he handled it with me privately, but apparently that was not good enough for some, and the need to make this public i feel is grossly inappropriate. but oh well, thats just my take on it. i have not received any prizes yet, but i will gladly resend them back out to whoever the new winner is (unless i end up getting a metabo to flex or something lol, i kid.). frankly, im a little put off and upset that this thread even exists, and i wasnt even going to post in it at first, but i feel the need to publicly defend myself, and explain myself, since i have been draw into the public eye on this forum once again. im just a detailer who loves what he does, and enjoys learning (and buying, of course) new things, and also one who gets equal enjoyment out of being able to pass along what i have learned to others whenever i can, which in my opinion is the best part about this forum. the wealth of knowledge available and the willingness of the guys here with experience to help others.

i thought that there were a good amount of members here who were well aware of my ful time job, as i never attempted to hide it at all. i have done all but shout from the top of a mountain that i detail full time. hell, i have even thrown up threads over my time here from work posting up pictures of cars i have been working on etc. i have outright stated in plain blatant english in countless threads that i work full time as a detailer MANY times. i never at all in any way attempted to conceal the fact that i work as a detailer in any way shape or form.

once again, i apologize to all, but just want it to be known that I DID NOT INTENTIONALLY TRY TO SANDBAG THE COMPETITION, DECIEVE THE FORUM, OR FLY UNDER THE RADAR.

better yet, spyral why dont you send me your address and once i receive the prizes, i will be more than happy to send them right to you so you can add them to your seemingly endless collection, if that will make you feel better about the situation.

and to those who have said good things about me, defended me and my character, etc, i truly appreciate it. it means a lot. im a good guy and an honest person, and ill be the first to admit when im wrong, and i have done so in private, and now in PUBLIC.

i feel that it is just plain ignorant for one to question my honesty, intentions, or INTEGRITY, when one knows absolutely nothing about me as a person. at the end of the day, its just the internet. get over it.

I don't know the little details and there may be more to the story but it just doesntseem like that big of a deal to me. Definitely not something to leave the forum over.

Everyone here seems like pretty cool people. I doubt anyone was trying to circumvent the rules. Might have been an error due to lack of information.

I had no idea it was only for "weekend warriors" until now. To be honest I don't think its right to exclude any party from the competition. Any weekend warrior can be just as skilled as a professional.

I'd far rather look at some honda civic that got a complete makeover done by a weekend warrior than some one elses maintence detail on a ferrari at the dealership. I don't think the weekend warrior is at a disadvantage if pros are allowed. Just my opinion

 

Well there we go there was a misunderstanding, billy did not mean to do it, the rules will be more clear now as in who can enter and not. Everything is well and the earth is still circling the sun. Do not think anything more really needs to be said other then time to wrap this one up and close her down.

 

But the internet is serious business Billy! Just messing, but much respect to you for defending yourself and your willingness to send prizes to the new winner.

Like I told Carlos many times in PM's, it isn't about me wanting to win. I pretty much own every supply I want and have no problem getting whatever I need. To me, it's about the fact that the prizes deserve to go to a rightful winner, whoever that may be. Fair is fair. I call it how I see it.

Well there you have it, this is what happens when another member here who's intensions may have been pure decides to hold a grudge on my behalf. Believe me you do me no favors by holding a grudge on my behalf, I honestly did not think this particular issue was as big as it was made out to be.

Like I said and will keep on saying (I honestly think I sound like a broken record here), I deal with things as I see fit, you may not agree with it or like it but I assure you I deal with things as fair as possible and as respectful as possible, I don't enjoy publicly ridiculing someone. I wouldn't like it done to me so I don't do it to members, simple as that. All it leaves behind is a bad taste in everyones mouth including my self, I mean look at the outcome now peoples feelings are hurt, now one person doesn't 'like' another person..:bla2: :bla2: :bla2:...it's drama that really should have been kept private and left up for me to deal with. If you guys knew the good stuff I deal with on a daily basis you would run away and all these good things I deal with are just simple miss understanding blown out of proportion :shrug:

Any who, I have explained what happened, billyblooshoes has publicly apologized and life goes on :shrug:

If any good came out of it is that I need to hurry up and post up the modified rules for the Monthly Competition. But like I've said when in doubt just PM me, see the issue I'm having is with the definition of a Professional Detailer, it's not as easy as you think but I'll get the rules reviewed by a good friend and hopefully the rules will be crystal clear I hope :beg:

Well I believe now is a good time to close the thread, all has been said, all is now on the open and hopefully people can move on and be done with. If you'd like to say something to me please just send me a PM but if you feel compelled to start a thread about more drama I just hope your ready to pay the consequences that follow.
