Not sure I understand. I have one like it and it burns very clean just like my ventless gas logs do in my house. These heaters are designed to be run indoors and were designed with garages and such in mind. Even if you were a little concerned you could crack a window or barely lift your garage door to add some extra ventilation if you were concerned about that.
Carbon monoxide is nothing to scoff at. Odorless, colorless,and heavier than air. Lots of people die every year because of it. A "sunflower" is a better choice IMO for indoor use. Mabey im not exactly sure how this particular heater burns but any Ive used in this style will give off carbon monoxide levels that are lethal. Yea I would agree with Duratys on this one carbon monoxide is deadly and you have to be carefull with it but I too dont' know how well these units work so just my opinion but I'd still be a bit cautious about this unit again just my :2cents:
I have used this heater all winter long and have had no issues with it. Just like I don't have issues with my ventless gas logs. This is different from the industrial kerosene and No. 2 fuel oil torpedo heaters you are thinking of. They do look similar. This one has an automatic fuel shut off if the pilot goes out as an extra safety precaution. If you notice the one you recommended says for outdoor use only where as the ones like Rocco posted and the one I have from Lowes are intended for use in shops and garages.

I'd be careful with the carbon monoxide. I've lost 2 friends this past year because of just being uneducated. They were in the car and left the garage door down, and they were letting the car warm up. If you do get this tank just be careful. I suggest a carbon monoxide detector just in case. You never know how things will burn and what chemical make up they will turn out to be.
If it has open flame it creates carbon monoxide plain n simple. The sunflowers we use in the oilfield up here are flameless and dont produce carbon monoxide and its the main reason we use them. I was using the link I posted as a guide as to what style to look for.
So sorry to hear about your friends. I will not make the same mistake. I was already going to pick up a dector even though I don't think it is needed. IMO it is always better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for the concern and advice! :thumb:
