So like a lot of you guys, since I started detailing I've begun to detail just about everything. I'd be detailing all the household appliances if my mom didn't hire a cleaning guy If our lawnmower wasn't beyond repair I'd detail it too. But in light of my upcoming Bonnaroo camping trip, I decided to detail my camp stove and as I have no life do a write-up on it My neighbor gave me this stove and said she and her late husband and their family used to use it when they went camping. Judging by the warranty certificate I got with it, this stove was made in about 1975. I don't think it's been used much since. Some people said to keep it nice and not use it...but I don't roll like that, if I've got it I'm gonna use it for its intended purpose and have fun with it. I got some fuel for it the other day and it works perfectly so onto the detail... I needed to clean it but wasn't sure what to use to do so...I didn't wanna get it too wet so I decided to spray it down thoroughly with ONR at QD dilution and then wipe it down with a microfiber. Metal polished with a combination of Eagle One Never Dull wadding polish and P21S Polishing soap. On a side note--the quality of metal on camp stoves isn't particularity high so it didn't polish very well. Some rust could not be removed. Finally I waxed it with Collinite 845. I could have spent a load more time on it but...it's a camping appliance and will be used as such so I stopped there Pics... Clark ! Nice job, write up and pics of your project ! Those Coleman stoves work great and you should have fun camping with it. I like that it is totally self contained in a nice case, so you dont have parts flying all around loose and stuff. Better still, go get some gals, (with their bikini's), some great food and Ipod music, camping gear, your stove, marshmallows, etc., and head out for the hills to get some sun, swimming, and whatever happens next ! You're definitely not alone, I polished and sealed my black printer lol I'm gonna be detailing a lot of my stuff after I move in a couple days as well
haha well just got back from Bonnaroo, used the stove a whole bunch. I even figured out how to make toast on it. I was told by a few people to "keep it nice" and not use it but I've got it and I'm gonna use the crap outta it. Oh and for all the comments about girls in bikinis...here's my friend making Jambalaya over the stove. Too bad I don't swing that way
that is funny, I get laughed at because I am constantly wiping down my black appliances with yellow MF towels and Diluted APC........... BTW works great on breaking up grease on stoves LOL I use Ult. Detailer on my my black fridge too.
