I know this is can happen randomly, but How often do you get rock chips/cracks on your winshield?

Also, does your state/city have a cleaning machines to sweep up the rocks/gravel/debris on the side of the interstates and roads?

Just wondering as it is common practice in louisiana to replace your windshield. Pisses me off that I already have to huge cracks. Every car I have owned down here has had the same problem.

Its not just me, I asked my coworkers and they have it too. Most of them are from out of state and they say its rare to have to replace a windsheild.

Much too often!!! It's quite common where I live for cars and trucks to get cracked windshields. One of our cars has 2 seperate ones. Its time to replace it but after the first one I figured as long as it wasn't in my line of sight I'd wait cause I knew as soon as I replaced it I'd get another one. Of course to be fair the first one I got was while driving in Washington. The 2nd was local.

They do sweep the sand/rocks up in spring but they never get them all.

I guess this is common in many places but it sure is annoying!

    Cheers, G
