How Do You Save Time During Your Details?

i'm not trying to be rude either. just serious. the hardest time i have is around the outside lip there ia about a 1/8" - 1/4" lip that always wants to hide dust from my brushes.. maybe a sponge will work? never tried

 

and for the OP. i dont use a blower to dry the car and i spend a lot of time finding all the drips. maybe that will speed things up?

 

Some tools that save time

Compressed air
extractor ( for filthy carpets)
Pump sprayers, instead of pumping your guts out on wheels or an engine bay
spray waxes or sealant like Werkstat AJT

Routines are the best thing for saving time, try doing cars, truck ect in the same manner every time.

Sort your stuff by application, interior, exterior, stains, ect

 

I've been using demoted sponges for some time too. Then I bought the RB fluffy wheel mitt. that thing works amazing, and so gentle on the wheels. And, it just fits over your 4 fingers, so you can easily reach behind spokes with it (but not those 10+ spoke designs like on that audi posted earlier).

 

Two words. Red bull.

a few things i do to save time is that i foam up the car first and let it sit and pull the lose dirt off and while it does that i do the wheels and tires. That way i can rinse the car all at once then start with the two buckets and wash mitt

also while waiting for lsp to haze or cure i do the trim, door jambs, glass, interior and similar. Also if im going to the engine bay i do that first cause sometimes if its a mess (as most of my jobs are) the dirt and gunk will jump off and land on the exterior paint.

 

fwiw, i'm kicking out all my friends from now on until i'm done polishing

 

Thank you all for your input and your suggestions, they were helpful. I will have to try using a wash sponge on the wheels this weekend and see how that works. I have also written a checklist out that goes in very specific order that should help as well and I will post that shortly as soon I get it typed up. I know that a large part of my problem is organization as well, constantly needing to look for something, or go digging for a product, so I have organized everything in Rubbermaid containers with cardboard dividers. Another thing I did was order some quick connect nozzles for my hose attachments and PW.
