I have been using the orange and red pads from Flexipads and I like them very much. I have nevere tested the 6" you are refering to, but I have been looking for it. Their soft backing plate looks similar to the 3M, but only much cheaper.

Oh I don't want any pads.. but I will probably buy some to justify the shipping. I have plenty of backing plates..but they are all the hard polyurethane ones.. my only BP with a foam cushion is the 5.75" So1o easy buff BP and I can't use that with any of my 5.5" pads. So I am really only interested in the BP with a foam cushion that will fit a 5/8 thread.
