Thanks man. Yes, compared to all my waxes Insignis is definitely the easiest to use sparingly. Been used three times and I can sell it to ANYONE on this forum as brand new and they wouldn't know it was ever touched. Seems as the Mystery will be the same way. Kind words are appreciated and I'm shooting for pictures to be posted this week. Thank you! Thanks Ankeet. Bought it straight from them, though didn't see any discounts unfortunately. Thanks Erik! The Souverans a great, great wax. Truly gives a "Swissvax like" look, but doesn't last very long. An awesome wax nonetheless.
congrats on the purchase i can understand the haters, but its not really "jealousy" so dont get too upset, but more so the age old argument that any wax looks great on a well prep'd paint - which was proven by DaveKG in his EPIC product comparo ive gone the other way started out using concorso and mystery (though mine was brown and smelled like chocolate), and now im finding more pleasure in using waxes like vic red, e-zyme etc that look just as good and offer better protection
Thanks, though I never really said anyone was jealous. I understand that prep is 95% and thats why I'm going to do a wash/clay/polish before application to get the most out of this. Question though, what evidence do you have to support that Vics Red and ezyme offer more protection. My Insignis lasted forever and I've spoken to someone personally who owns both Mystery and Insignis and they stated that they get better durability with Mystery and likes the look more too.
i owned mystery for 3 years and concorso for 4 years and both waxes no matter how many times i layered them left water spots on my paint - a few of my details from 2-3 years ago on our cars are still on autopia we have the harshest sun in aus, so after a rain when the sun comes out it really goes to work etching the water droplets into the paint the only paste carnauba waxes ive used (so far) that dont give me water spots is vic red and e-zyme. i recently waxed my car with lusso oro and that left some water spots on my hood and tops of the front guards so hence my comment re protection looks are a subjective thing, just as is wax choice, thats the beauty of this hobby. Personally i prefer the deep black look of lusso oro on my solid black GTR over the sharp clarity highly reflective look of concorso on my old solid black 350Z
Lmao^ And yes Supercharged if I don't buy Celeste Dettaglio as an impulse purchase Crystal Rock should be next. I did promise to the GF no more until I at least finish one jar. Replace promise with lie above, sorry
^lol my gf has an issue with it too everytime she sees a cardboard box on my kitchen counter she goes out and buys a pair of shoes mystery is the only tub i ever fully used (hand application = my loss), and my concorso tub has about 2-3 details left in it i too am interested in the new celeste, every CG product ive used so far has really impressed me, but just wonder if theres anything to gain over e-zyme i got to see crystal rock in the flesh on my mates solid black fiat 500 that was detailed by a local pro detailer. To be honest unless its giving the clear coat an impenetrable protection layer i wouldnt bother, looks identical to the saphir previously on the same paint
First off i want to say congrats on your recent swissvax acquisition. I have Crystal Rock and I have to say the shine and depth of gloss it added to my Metallic Quartz Grey paint was nothing I've had seen before. My paint typically looks the best in bright sun light, and muted in overcast conditions. CR changed all that, whether it is sunny, overcast, snowing, or the car is dirty, CR made the paint look wet, glossy and deep. I was fortunate enough to buy it at an extremely discounted price from someone on these boards. The jar had like 90% maybe more. i've used it once since buying it. I also have shield and love it for its ability to sheet water off, its exteremely hydrophoic, almost don't need a towel to dry the car off.
