I'm all for concealed carry in every state but if possible I'd push for an intense psychiatric exam for each carrier. My exposure to the internet has "left something to be desired" with faith in humanity.
Exactly. There should be a mandatory driver's license exam every 10 years, that would also help our public transit infrastructure.
This is so true.... last year, two punks went into a store that sells video games, pulled their guns and demanded money and whatever....the owner (5'2 petite hispanic woman) walks in on it, pulls, shoots both clowns, one dies while in the doorway,, the other dies a block away. she saved herself, two employees and the tax payers. DA ruled it a clean shoot, most people where live who have a CCW are fairly well trained, many of them understand the baggage that goes with carrying a gun and train, and take classes. She not only had a permit, she actually had taken quite a few classes. I am not going to call 911 and hide and wait for the police to pull off an occupy protest to come help me.. this actually happened where my folks live, Berkeley pd denied response to a man who called the police for a hot prowler, the guy was then beaten to death because BPD refused to respond because Occupy Oakland was fucking around again and BPD was "standing by" if the hippies were to get out of control again. Sorry, i am not going to be that guy, I would rather plug the bastard and have my lawyer sort it out, no jury would convict you if you killed someone in self defense....
California there is, I think its every 10 years. But it still does not stop people from drinking driving and killing an entire family on the way home from dinner.............or an old man from plowing down 20 people in a farmers market, or talking on the phone while backing over your own child in the driveway. people have to be held accountable, period. You can't legislate behavior, its impossible. the problem with government is they like to make up laws and their are tons of laws...... stupid laws, laws that make no sense but they write them anyway. it does not stop determined people from violating them. Murder is against the law, but people do it all the time, with guns, cars, fists, rat posion, drowning, you name it..... but what is really the punishment? 10 years in the courts, 25 to life in gladiator school...
The mindset is to be hard........................once when I was a assistant instructor @ one of the Kenpo schools I was at (Inside of a gym in a questional area btw) a young gang member came in and watched a private lesson and then we were sparring, so somehow he wanted to be included and got out there(Background on the bad -a** 140lb of black sweatshirt and Raiders gear) so the owner of the school Tom(Senior Blackbelt in our system) says Bob spar with him a little.... Started jumping around, swinging his arms shucking & moving..................I threw a SLOW jab, then a very fast low round power kick on the lead leg, want to guess how that turned out?, got the kid off the ground and talked with him about the difference between looking bad -a** and the performance reality of what just happened. Took about a hour with him and said "Look you are thiness and what are you going to do at Santa Rita or "The Pen" when a guy my size and skill wants to test you.......", he started to see the light when I said I know he is trapped in "the hood" and some do not have a choice but in reality he did and I pointed out the options. Never did see him again, and wonder if he listened or made it to the "Big leagues" (Prison) of criminality. Things are upside down now especially in california where bad conduct is applauded and you can do "What feels good", I hope I do not have to move to Idaho or Montana to be able to live with liberty again in my own country. There are some guys I know close by that are armed to the teeth, and far away like "The Bing" ................guns are tools like a car, and when used properly there is no issue, not used properly.............................well we all know just listen to the nightly news.
Like the old saying goes: "better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6." Sorry for the old revival, but I thought you made a very valid point.
