Hoi, I tested out the Riccardo Wax today, here are my findings: 1) Applied in full sun 2) Applied with a sponge applicator 3) Applied decently thick 4) Removed after one minute I found the wax decently easy to apply, even though it would "stick" at times. Applied it to the paint in a circular motion, not much to it. Spread nicely. Let it sit for about a minute, then removed it with a nice MF. Removing the wax wasn't the easiest task, but it wasn't like other waxed when applied in the full sun, which was a plus. However, the "sticking" issue didn't go away. My MF kept sticking to the paint, which was annoying when trying to remove the wax. Also, after removing the wax, an oily residue was left. I did not try to remove it with a QD, rather see what would happen if I let it sit. After an hour or so, the hazing looked like it was gone. The wax looked good, but it didn't really have an edge on any other waxed have used. What I did like is its filling abilities. It did not darken the paint. All in all, I think with some more tweaking, this wax has great potential! Application: You can see the oily haze after removal: :tiptoe:
dang piet you did apply that thick!!! but i found the oily residue as well... but I applied alot thinner, ALOT thinner.
I hate applying anything thin as I hate nothing more than when the applicator starts "squeeking" across the paint. So for a product to be excellent for me, I have to be able to NOT think about having to apply it super super thin.
the sun light is what killed you.. i never apply in the sun or on warm paint.. i don't feel the wax bonds as well and it smears when you remove it instead of comming off clean.. when you apply any lsp on the planet thick it is going to be a lil pain to remove..i hate applying products in the sun for over 75% of the time i have issues.. i just took some shots of my 335 with js 109 under BOS.. i have a couple great shots i gotta post up.. and it was after almost two months.. it looked almost like a fresh waxing the beads were so good. thx a bunch for the review and i always loves shots of wax hazing
I completely agree with you, but it's nice to test something under "extreme" circumstances. I used the same process when I used Juztang's Wet Obsessions. Glad to hear you like hazing shots, I am a sucker for beading shots, so post up those pics of the BMW!
