No, wash with ONR as you normally would. Then, before drying the panel, spray the panel with AW. Then dry.
On a whim, I tried something new to me from Duragloss - 751 Rain Repellent Glass Cleaner. It hasn't rained yet, but judging by the super slick feel of the glass after I used it, this stuff is money. And it's so easy! Just use it like any old glass cleaner. No streaks, no weirdness, it works every bit as well, IMO, as Sprayway and IG. It's a little more expensive, I picked it up at Car Quest for about $8. I also wish it came in an aerosol. Otherwise, I've got a new exterior glass cleaner.
Hmmm DG is only 25 milesw from my new place, I wonder if they have a showroom where I can buy direct from?
I used DG751 as 2 In1 Glass Cleaner cum rainX but its much ease to use than rainX. RainX normally streak when apply and you need another wipe to cclear off the products and its not easy. Worst is my wiper will jugler after then. So far this 751 served me well and its lasting to me. Thanks for all the advice on AW.. I will try it out. I always dry the car before used the AW.
That's a pretty great idea. I can't see why it wouldn't work. It doesn't seem to streak or anything. Might be a good replacement for my beloved P21S windshield wash booster, which cleans well, but is a little pricey. I've thought the same thing. A buddy has a race shop in Burlington that I stop in at every now and then, so I'm out that way a few times a year.
Their site says dilute it 4:1 with water for the washer tank. I just reciecved an email from DG they said they do not have a showroom, I can buy their products from Napa and Car Quest. Let me know next time your in the area, we can meet up.
Hey guys quick question about DG 105 and DG 501. How many cars can I detail with a 16oz bottle of DG 105 and DG 501 because I'm planning to order from eShine. It looks like it would be a good combo for my 2008 Black Honda Civic. Thanks!
Try to apply a layer of PBA 601 Bonding Agent before 105. It makes a diff in terms of durability and sleekness.
So what product should I apply first? 501 -> 601 -> 105? Can I apply all of those with a porter cable and white pad (DG501) / black pad (DG 601 and DG105)? My civic has a reputation of having an el cheapo soft paint I don't know if it's overkill for her but I really want to get rid of her micro-scratches
With soft paint or just corrected paint I like 501 with a black LC pad myself. White pad for harder clears
Hmmm so I should use black pad for my Honda's soft paint then. Any ideas on how many cars a 16oz of 501 can treat?
501 is not a true polish, it won't remove swirls, its a cleaner/sealant. I prime the pad with 501, then use just 2 lil dots and work it in a 2'x2' section, do the entire car then buff off OR I will allow it to set and pass the swipe test and then buff off just as I would any other sealant. 501 by itself looks great and last a while as well
I use 1.5 - 2 oz of polish per trip around a full size sedan. Two drops of polish per each 2 x 2 section. Just my 2 cents.
Oh is that right? I should look for a real polish if that's the case :shead: will duragloss 671 do the trick for my car's soft paint? or should I get Poorboys SSR 2.5? I'll try to post pics of my car's paint condition later. It's just micro scratches probably because I used to clean my car first with a sponge (I know, my bad )
Really? I know I fill an 8 oz meg's york syle bottle about 7/8 full when I start. I'm at half or a little over when I'm done. Maybe I should use less polish... The amount used is when I'm using a product like SIP. I normally put maybe a 2 inch line of polish directly on the panel, and work an area about the same size (2x2) or a little larger. I'm sure you have way more vehicles polished than me. I'm still developing a routine.
If you need paint correction look outside of DG, Meguiars, Menzerna, 1Z... 501 to clean remove as soon as your done cleaning like a polish, after the car is finished apply 601 then TK, 111 or 105 (staying in the DG family)
