I had this Porsche Boxster to do. It was pretty dirty but I ended up using the WHOLE bottle of 441 on this job, and then some. Anyone else ever had to go thru a full bottle of this stuff? It's some very good stuff, but I had to apply it 3 times per area to get all that dirt out. I guess a 3l of Lexol would be better next time? Thoughts? Marc
Hey Marc-Andre how are you? I think #441 is great for light soiling on seats, but I think it's not cost effective for extremely dirty seats. I'm currently using CG's leather cleaner and LM Strong Cleaner for heavier soiling.
If you've got nasty leather, you NEED to get one of Ken's AG pads. Fantastic for leather and plastic surfaces. You can use an APC with it for the nasty stuff. Check out THIS BMW for a nasty interior. I love the AG pad!
I use DG 441 or Lexol for light to moderate soiling. If its quite dirty, then Gloss it or Leatherique. And Richy is right. For nasty seats, one of our AG Hi Tech Cleaning Pads with your leather cleaner or APC and you're golden.
Agree with the cleaning pad especially on dirty seats. The tool you use to agitate is important. I remember when I first started cleaning leather seats, I use only AG interior shampoo with a MF cloth to wipe. I end up wasting more product and couldn't get it clean. Combine with the pad, I can clean much better with at least half the time and half the amount of product.
Ive used the leather cleaner with a microfiber applicator square and it really worked much nice. I think what helped me is that I wiped the leather down with a warm damp cloth before actually cleaning it with the cleaner
This might sound odd, but I have some really nasty seats clean up with some woolite 1:8 or 1:10, Extremly effective and cost efficient. That with some agitation from a leather brush and it should be good as new smells awesome too (fresh laundry). Some people use a damp magic eraser along with it, but I have never needed that much power since the woolite works great.
Not odd at all ... a lot of people use Woolite. I have used it in the past with excellent results, but I've always been concerned with properly rinsing the seats. I always feel a little bit of residue when I use woolite at 10:1 (even after a wipedown with a damp mf). CG cleaner cleaned just as good and it didn't leave any residue after a final wipedown. Magic Eraser works great on really nasty seats as long as it wet. This is the last product I grab after trying everything else.
