I finally finished up the vehicle that is in these pictures so I am posting some pics of my shop. It is nothing spectacular, but it keeps me out of the weather. Sorry, no construction pictures. I wasn't smart enough to document the building process. :whistle: The floor was the only labor I hired out. Everything else I was able to accomplish on my own or with an extra set of hands from anybody that came by and stood too long in one place. :rollinglaugh: I wish that I had painted the walls and ceiling BEFORE I moved in. Now, I don't want to take everything out to do it. I realize the shop would be much brighter with a nice coat of white paint. Hope you enjoy. I appreciate you making the pics bigger. I got in the habit of using image shack and it automatically resizes small for forums. When you get the chance, would you mind pm'ing me your perferred procedure for posting pics here? Please keep it simple if you can. Me and technology sometimes don't play together well. :whistle: Mytee brothers unite! :hug: Those are the only pictures of the truck. I no longer take before and afters. My picture taking skills are extremely lacking. Also, it's a small town thing, everyone knows everybody and what they drive. I have found that the befores (especially interiors) were embarrasing to some. I still have the truck due to bad weather, I could go out and snap some afters in the a.m. DLR
My youngest daughter made that for me. She bought the fabric, made a pattern, cut it out and sewed it up by herself. She had a friend help her with the embroidery. I am very proud of it!!! The clock was a Christmas gift from last year. My family spoils me. Maybe they just want me to stay out in the shop more? :thinking: DLR
Oh DLR, no worries on the pictures buddy there is no particular way of doing things here any way you see fit is fine...I just wanted to see more details on the pictures that's all..that way I could admire your hard work on the shop :thumb: so any way you want to post is fine DLR no worries..hope you didn't mind me re-posting them. I think the clock is wicked, your set up is wicked if you ask me.
Thanks for the compliments! I really like the Hi-Temp product line. Using products from 1 manufacturer makes it easier for me to know what works well together to achieve a great result. I started using them in the beginning in small quantities because of price, and found that it was really quality stuff. Shipping to me in Indiana is usually 2 days, another reason for using this line. There are plenty of fantastic brands of chemicals and suppliers out there. I just haven't tried them yet! :thinking: I would be glad to answer any specific questions you may have about them, PM me. All the shelving and racks came from the area home improvement store. You should see the shop now. I usually don't get carried away picking stuff up until after I get deliver a vehicle. I'll have to tidy up abit for those pics I promised Nica! :angel: I feel it is important to educate my customers about proper care and preservation of their vehicles. I leave stuff that I used out on the bench to let the customer see - without holding each and every bottle up - that I use quality products and alot of them to restore their vehicle. Sometimes it prompts the customer to ask about the process or a certain chemical. Others just want shiny and clean and could care less. I feel this sublte method of passing along information targets the "right" group. :idea: DLR
I really like your logic on limiting product lines. When I first started doing this for pay back in the summer I tried everything to see what I liked and didn't like. Now however I am gravitating towards streamlining my product lines. Like you said I will be able to be so much more familiar with them and how they work. I'll be PMing you soon about your thoughts.
:nod: I agree with the way you conduct your business DLR, it's nice to have a variety but it's best to stick to one and know it as best as possible. I was on the same boat as Wolf, purchased a bunch of things to try out for my self, once I found out what I liked and provided the results I wanted I kept on using it. I do enjoy having one or two back up products but they are just back up product.
Nothing wrong with having a variety of products in your cabinets. I know some guys that use this type of wax on this color of paint and that kind for another color. Certain polishes for certain makes of vehicles. Specific cleaners for this type of trim or that type... They are into their products way more me. I am just not that smart! Simple is better for me. If I have too many choices, I can't make up my mind. Just ask my wife. :rollinglaugh: DLR
