I finally got around to detailing 2 WWII German pistols that have been in my family for quite some time. The one is a Mauser and the other an FN. I am quite proud of the fact that I was able to research online and find a site that explained how to field strip them. I want to keep them in pristine condition. Here are some pics of the final product. Look closely on both and you'll see the swastika on each one. Both are numbers matching, have both magazines and the original leather belt holster.
The Mauser I'm familiar with is the one that has the magazine in front of the trigger (the one that looks like Han Solo's pistol from Star Wars). Those are some sweet antique guns by the way .
Klumzy..I think that model is called a broomstick handle. Calgary..It's cool to see such a tangible piece of history..thanks
Wow those are some nice guns there richy, I agree with Calgary, not a big fan of guns but love the history on things and those guns must have some incredable history. I like the attention to details on those guns, I'm no expert on guns or hystory but didn't those symbols mean that the guns were for genearls? I could be out to lunch but I thought I saw something like that on History Channel the other day?
I'm not sure whether all issued weapons had the swastika insignia or it was just for nco's or general or whatever. Imagine if they could talk..the lives they've taken.
Those are awesome Richy, I do not have any antique guns. I do have 31 hand guns. I would like to get a couple assault rifles-H&k or Barrett.
No, not yet although I will some day. I bought hollow points for them b/c I was thinking of carrying the Mauser off duty, but I have not been trained on it like my 40 cal S&W so I would be concerned if I ever got a stoppage or something. I train to clear those with my smith.
How do you even keep track of so many? I have 2 .357 magnums from shooting PPC. That and a target pistol .22..a beautiful Browning.
Well some of them are hidden through out the house, just in case of an emergency. The rest are locked up in a safe. I shoot them every other weekend, not all of them in one day, that would cost more than swissvax divine. Next purchase is going to be a couple assault rifles.
When I read this all that went through my head was, you wake up in the morning to go brush your teeth and you open the medicin cabinet and bam...ther's a gun! Then you jump in the showe and on the ceiling is a another gun....hahahaha...you go to the kitchen to make toas (I like toas) get the bread out of the fried and BAM another gun..hahahaha...that's just my wacky imagination though :woo: Man that's a lot of guns though, why so many opcorn:
Nica you are actually on the right track. Just like guns, like people collect coins, stamps, football and baseball cards.
You ever see the cartoon where the wife is bent over the sink drying her hair and the husband hands her a revolver rather than the hairdryer??
   yea I know the one your talking about hahaahahaha :rollinglaugh: :rollinglaugh:
