The Product is E-Shines Clean Wheel Nut Cleaner. First Impressions. Tool appeared to be quite sturdy and ergonomically designed. The Bucket notch was also impressive Procedure. The car I used it on was a 2004 Saab 9-3 which are notorious for brake dust. I used Auto Magic's non-acid citrus wheel cleaner which was left to sit for 1 minute. Observations. Tool fit easily into the wheels lug nuts. However this is where the problems started for me. My first issue was that it did not clean all of the brake dust off of the cavity, even after 3 or 4 tries. My second issue was that the sponge insert fell off every time it was pulled out of the cavity. My third issue was that every time some pressure was put on the tool, the sponge would become disconnected from the plastic holders. Final Thoughts. All of these issues were solved by using a simple cotton swab to clean the lug nut cavity. I will have to try this tool out on some other vehicles wheels before I have a set opinion on it. At this point I would rate this tool 3/10
Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices ^^This is where I got mine. I never had any of the issues the OP had. In fact, I just used mine again on Monday. Handy little tool.
Seen this at Harbor Freight a lot of times, never bought one. I get my Swissvax brush in there just start pretending I'm a DJ, going back and forth and back and forth.
We have sold a lot of these and it seems like customers either love them or have nothing but problems. I personally use it with good results. A few of our customers did not remove the sponge piece in the center of the tool (where the lug nut goes). It is precut but the piece pulls out. Has yours been pulled out?
Yeah could be very possible. I had tried it with and without the precut piece, maybe I will try the spare sponge that came with it. Thanks for the concern.
:applause2: I think your customer service and help over the last few months makes the 8 dollars I spent on the tool irrelevant. Of the 50 some items I have bought off you, 1 being not so great is no biggie, lol

This was the lug nut brush cleaner I used before and the metal tends to rust with this product. It works about the same as the one from HF.
I haven't encountered this problem. Acidic wheel cleaners might be responsible; I normally use CG Sticky Citrus Wheel Gel. Thoroughly rinsing the brush after each use and allowing it to dry properly should increase the brush's lifespan. I'm sure your aware of this; just letting everyone know since it has worked well for me and my lug nut brush has yet to rust after nearly 6 months of frequent use.
I've had the same issues as the OP has had with mine. It does work fine if the lug nut holes are larger, but on most smaller ones with minimal clearance between the lug nut and well it is more a hassle than a help. I also purchased one from Autozone like milabfocker posted and have had great success with that one. I wish you could combine the two styles as I like the T-handle of the one with the foam insert but hate the foam insert. I like the brush on the Autozone one but the handle could be better. Take the one from Autozone and convert it to a T-handle and I think you have the perfect tool. OH and I just realized that was my 2000th post!!!!!!!!!!
yup much prefer the swissvax brush.. i hate those lug nut cleaner tools.. they look and feel like such POS' and you know that foam won't last long.. i prefer using the swissvax brushes and for super tight area's i use a detail stick and or a number od different detail swab's with cotten and foam tips from griots.. my only purchase from them and though 4 types of swabs and the detail stick set was around 100-130 usd which is crazy at first but when you get the package and see you are set for half your life or all of it it makes you happy.
