It's nice to have people come up to you at work, people you don't ever really talk to, and have them say, "Your car always looks so nice and perfect." I had that comment yesterday. About a week ago, one day aftergetting the wheel sticks from Phil (Detailers Domain) and using them was, "Your car's so clean... Even the insides of the wheels are clean!" This is all on a silver Audi S4. It's nice to know when your paint is swirl free, and you've got a coat of good wax on it, that the average person can tell the difference to the point of commenting. Picture of my car dirty for reference. :headbang:
NICE!! I can hear what your gf/wife is thinking in the car of the pic "Ughhh, taking pics of his car AGAIN - he never takes pictures of me - I am NOT getting out of the car".....lol
i was thinking the exact same thing. on the other end of the occasional compliment i sometimes get the " that car is so clean, that guy has to get a real life " stares. anyone else get those ?
i get those from my neighbors along with the didnt he just wash his car look and the classic hes gonna wax the paint right off that car stare =P the one i dig the most is the why is he taking pictures of his paint close up in the rain glare
My G35 coupe is always clean if it's rain snow or heat. Clean Black car just make it stand out so much more.
I get that "look" so often that now I quickly wash th car in my drive way then quickly drive it in the garage ,close the door and do the rest of the stuff out of sight.
lol...so true..guys at work say they can tell my cars from the rest in the parking lot from it's beading and shine hahahahahaha and that's how they know me lol.
I was just thinking about this yesterday actually. Now I love to keep my car clean as possible to promote good business. But I started to think a little, why am I using products I pay lots of money for on my own car? So now my question is this.. We, as detailers, can not stand our own cars being dirty. But I can't seem to be okay with myself using the products I pay for on my own car. Does anyone else think like this?
Everyone wonders why my 1996 ES300 looks brand new while their car looks like crap...in which I introduce them to what I do for a hobby
I detail just so I can justify the things needed to do my car right, LOL. If you only did your own, how could you have a collection of waxes, polishes, and QDs. How could you justify 3 machine polishers, a steamer, an extractor, and a pressure washer. I guess i'm the opposite of you er1k024, LOL! I do use the stuff that I don't like on my ride just to get rid of it, you know the tire shine, APCs, and 2 week lasting waxs you try once and then don't like.
haha......funny----welcome to my world. I actually don't care much anymore but I hear the neighbors in my head saying "look at him, wiping down his car again.........I wonder what he's wiping it with that makes it so shiny"! lol I do try to wash it then move inside the garage, shut the door, turn on a fan and some music and spend another hour or so finishing up. The garage is "my space" for me!! lol
