well its been a little while since i posted up any work, since i havent had any. tis the season i guess. this car came to me as a referral from the person who owns the M3 and Commander i worked on. the owner came to me with a budget, so we tailored what would be done around that. this detail consists of an interior detail as well as an exterior enhancement/winter prep. hopefully he will book for full correction in the spring. i was planning on doing a one step, and got thinking about trying out something new. as i've seen a bunch of the European guys using swissvax cleaner fluid pro as a one step, i decided i would try my hand at it, using cleaner fluid and blue uber pad via flex 3403. going into this process blind, i was skeptical, but it worked out really nice. not a ton of correction, which was to be expected, but enough that it really cleaned the paint up well. CF was worked at around 1200rpm, and sometimes bumped up to ~1500. spot correction was carried out to get rid of a few deeper scratches using yellow ubers and menz PF. i was lucky to have the customer drop the car off at my work earlier in the week. he was having a tail light bulb replaced, and since the wheels were CRAZY dirty, i got a head start yesterday at work to clean the wheels using Ardex Buster wheel acid. i used over 40 ounces of wheel acid to get the wheels completely clean. thanks man! yeah the girlfriend ended up getting me a flex. after handling both machines at phils and daves machines at the meet, i decided the flex was a better fit for me. i spent a lot of time with the rotary in my hands so i wanted it to be an easy, smooth transition from the makita. im happy i didnt get the metabo honestly...just dont like the feel of it with the speed dial placement and the button/trigger placement.
Cool billy ... I ended up going the other route and I got a pc xp to compliment my makita. Hope work picks up soon!!!

great work, just one suggestion. for the engine i found that using Black Wow is not only a waste sometimes (some cutomers dont even look at their engine bay) but also it attracts dirt and dust more than a dressing like 303 or CG Silk and Shine also about the kids in the backseat. im gonna have a nice car, hopefully but im going to plastic wrap the seats and carpet lol as well as denying any type of beverage or food in the car, (as i was raised lol)
thanks dave. im happy with how the silver came out as well. hahaha. will do, ken. thanks. the only reason i use black wow for motors is on audis. specifically the sections on the top where the 4 rings are and the bottom where the 4.2 V8 is. because of the way the plastic is textures, i've found black wow gives the best results in those areas. thanks. yeah the 4.2 is indeed a sweet motor. thanks and yes it was! thank you. and go figure guys....it rained for like 5 minutes this morning, and now the cars soaked. looks like im going to have to touch it up at some point today....:devil:
nice work. interior was trashed, so nice save on that. after you put the 303 on the top, did you let is sit for a while, then buff it out? and how did you apply it to the top?
Looks nice. Can you tell a little about the prosess you do when you clean and treat the leather, and what accesories you use(brushes, pads, microfiber, etc)?
thanks roger. sorry i just noticed that you had posted this. as for the 303, i spray it liberally directly onto the top and let it sit for a couple minutes. then i lightly spread it around so its nice and even and let it air dry. thanks. as far as cleaning and treating the leather on this one, i used 1Z Deep Plastic Cleaner and agitated it with a swissvax leather brush, then used Uber microfibers to wipe off the excess. i let them dry completely, and then i applied 1Z Leather Care by hand. by this i mean i (wearing gloves of course) squeeze some leather care into my hand and then massage it into the leather. this way you can make sure you get thin even coverage, and also make sure you are working it into all the crevices and creases. it also prevents you from wasting product that might have been soaked up by some sort of applicator.
Just a little tip for using the 303 on the top. I used to have a 'vert so this is easy, and helps prevent excess runoff at the first rain. Spray onto a MF applicator, not the top. Work it in really well, making sure to overlap just a little. Let it dry for around 20 minutes, then lightly, but briskly buff the top with a SHORT nap MF towel. Stand back, and admire the look.
Thanks! I have read somewhere that people use spray heads that creates foam when using the Plastic Cleaner on leather. Is this something that you have done ore heard of?
well the sprayer that is already on the 1Z Deep Plastic Cleaner is somewhat of a foaming sprayer as is. it induces air to create a foamy spray, so you're good to go with just using the cleaner straight from its container. also, agitating with the swissvax leather brush also helps with lathering up the product.
