ATTN: High end wax owners

After you use those machines,aprons,grit giurds and etc the nice expensive zymol,swissvax,pinnacle,victoria and etc(whew) makes the final product that much nicer.:joint:

 

High end waxes / galzes- it's your money therefore your choice. I use them because they give the finished product 'something'

•Use digital a photograph in an editing software picture editing program (i.e. Paint Shop Professional X1) you can also adjust contrast, and white balance from the camera

Cheating? Liken it to the ‘air-brushed’ photographs of fashion models or celebrities, it has very little to do with reality, you are creating an illusion that people ‘want’ to believe (professional detailer’s; just be careful what claims you make for a product though ‘enhanced’ photographs (i.e.’ Truth in Advertising’)

Well, he does have to at least like ONE product that AG doens't sell. Otherwise it would be too obvious.

agreed i have read a few of his posts and VERY impressed I would buy the book the day it is available.


On the note of high end waxes I have them and use them, I think they do give something to the finish and enjoy using high end products on my vehicles. Money is not a factor for me because when I do a detail I take that money and buy products. Detailing is not my job i enjoy doing it making money is a nice perk.

 

I've never used zymol, but have swisswax. To my eyes, the huge difference came from the pre cleaner.

The wax itself didn't seem to add more.

Other than that, to me the price wasn't justified. If anything swisswax should charge more for their cleaner - and lower the price on the wax.

I'll stick to my less $$$$ waxes.

If you take 2 pictures that are not edited, the expensive waxed car should show the price difference.

If someone really want to prove that ""high end"" waxes look better, do a blind test.

Have someone you trust do the detail and put 2 different waxes on the hood.

I'd like to see who can point out the high end wax.

The aesthetics of a vehicle appearance is very subjective to say the least, the only best wax or sealant that really matters is what looks 'best' to you and meets the criteria you set for it.

The final result can only be as good as the surface it’s applied to. It really is all dependants upon, process over product; 85% preparation, 5% product suitability, 7% application methodology and the balance is in the ‘guy’ of the beholder. The other variables are; a detailer’s knowledge of paint type, experience with a given product and skill level and experience with machine polisher.

they do look nice, but its not necessarily the look that makes them that expensive. First of a look a wax gives is only so good as the paint condition its being applied to so keep that in mind. Second different waxes give different looks by design, some more depth(Swissvax and Zymol), some more reflection, some more clarity(like sealants) and some just are made to look like plastic wrappers (i.e. Zaino). Third what makes them so expensive is actually the rarity AND the amount AND the quality or grade of the carnauba in the wax. Because through my own personal testing, the more percent by volume of carnauba a wax has the better protection it provides and longevity of that protection against water damage. for instance I love lusso oro and even FMJ, but the fact of the matter is my concorso swissvax has 51% by volume pure grade #1 white carnauba and that high amount of carnauba is what makes it hold up better to water. I know this works b/c i used to get spots w/ other lesser %by volume waxes and I tested the concorso by wetting it down and letting the water soak into the paint for 2 weeks under the SC sun ans the next wash and no spotting or etching whereas other waxes didnt yield the same results.

in the end why argue with God? he created palm tree leaves in the Brazilian jungles with carnauba sap on them to protect them from water damage and sun damage...I think I know what he's doing....so i'll try and duplicate his methods by putting as much of that carnauba sap all over by paint!

IMO if a wax or sealant does not look great when you are done with a detail, I'd say your prep is to blame. On my full correction details, the finish will be 90%+ after polishing.

Do you know what carnauba costs?

 

Those are some jaw dropping pictures. :applause:

 

At one time Zaino did have a plasticy look but as many of us know Zaino is constantly improving its formula and that plasticy look is long gone. I think the look of Zaino rivals and even sometimes surpasses the look of expensive Carnuaba's. On my weekend cars I am always looking for that little extra bling and do not mind sacrificing durability to get it. Recently I have been trying some of the more expensive Carnuaba's in an effort to achieve this but have to say I have a hard time telling the difference between Z5p and some of the best carnuaba's on the market such as Zymol Concours and Pinnacle Souveran.

I am thinking about getting some Zaino now....that looks like he forgot to dry off the paint because it was dripping wet!!

 

I agree sneek....every time I think I have it figured out as to what Im going to buy.....along comes something else that makes me start wondering again. So far those pics have made the most impression with me.

 

Have you used Zaino? IMO the look is not plastic at all.

And you seriously think it costs Zymol $1800 or whatever it costs to make Vintage?
