Well today has been a VERY long day.... I got to work early, around 7 to get things going. I get everything cleaned up, organized, and sit down to have some breakfast when a client calls to ask if he can have a car waxed really quickly. He was picking it up from a local shop where he had just spent over 25K in car parts. Anyways, he swings by later on this afternoon to drop the car off for a wash and wax and takes my truck. I getit done and am on my way to drop the car off at his house when things go seriously wrong. I leave a set of lights in his corvette z06(black, SOOOO nice and only a few months old) I idle off nice and easy, its not my car and why bother beating on it anyways....this riced out acura intega is riding the tail, backs off and then racing back up....I flash my brake lights, like "hello, back the hell off!". Well finally the little ass decides to give up on trying to get me to race and swerves out into the right lane and then back into the left lane, losing control of the car. He smashes into the curb, so I swerve to avoid him and nail the brakes. Before i know it he's into the back end of the Vette and i'm going sideways and climbing overthe curb. SO NOW I'm sincerely peeved and having thoughts of killing this little ricer kid......he climbs outof the car as a cop who was a few lights back pulls up and says "I lost my steering"......I go beserk, and end up going to go sit in the cruiser to fill out my form and to wait for the owner to show up.Needless to say, it's been a BAD day, and a perfect detail has been ruined all thanks to one idiot driver!!:shakehead:
Damn, I thought I was having a bad day until I read this. Sorry to hear about your run in with a ricer who will ruin anyones day and hope the owner wasn't mad at you. Hope tomorrow gets better for you!!!
Im really sorry to hear about this, but as i know you will just stress to the owner it wasnt your fault..i hope he isnt too upset

That sucks. Glad you're ok. What was the Owner's reaction? Hopefully the Cop recognizes what happens, and cites the Ricer dude appropriately!
Ohh man, what an unfortunate turn of events.,..... sorry to hear this happened to you... I hope you have a longstanding solid relationship with the owner How much do you think this will effect your business insurance premiums?
Sorry, I'm not quite following the story. So the customer called you, dropped off a car (was it the Corvette or another car?) and takes your truck. When you were done with the Corvette, you drove back to his house to drop it off when the stupid kid caused an accident? Also, what does this mean: "I leave a set of lights in his corvette z06" Sorry mate, just trying to follow the story!
"Set of lights" is a stop light me thinks. And yes he was returning the Vette to his customer when the kid caused the accident.
Thanks! From now on when someone like that's trying to get me to race i'll just slow RIGHT down until they pass and areLOOOONG gome. The owner was mad, but he knew it wasn't my fault and that I did allI could to avoid it. Sometimes you just can't avoid someone elses stupidity!! Hah yeeea, Mike and I have decided we should change my name to murphy! It wasn't a Davenport car, no. The owner was pissed, as anyone would be , if their brand new car had been smacked up. There were 5 witnesses that saw the whole thing and stopped, writing statements to theeffect of there was nothing I could do and the kid was not only tailgating, but seemingly trying to "get me to race". He was cited with wreckless driving, tailgating, stunting, speeding, and something else to do with the causing of an accident. The owner knows me well, and has seen what a careful and capeable driver I am. He was angry the car was smacked up, but recognized that there wasn't much I could do. Everyone wants to race the vettes, esp the riced out teen who can'teven control his little integra This wont effect buisness insurance at all, seen as the accident has been blamed fully on the other perosn. Yep, the customer calls me and says he wants to drop his car off for a detail. I say ok sure, bring it by. When he drops it off, he takes my truck and tell me to just drive the vette back to his house after I'm done and I can just take my truck. I mean I leave a set of lights in his car as in Ipull away from a red light that had just gone green.
