Addition to my car

Well winter sucks and along with salt and dirty snow getting slung up at the side of my car, NJ DOT decides it will fix all the roads by my house by filling them with gravel. Genius i tell you. I've always had the dilemma of these rocks getting thrown up and chipping the sides of my car extensively so i decided to buy mud guards. [New Mitsu paint is a new tree hugger formula so its weak and chips easily]

The brand I got is called Rally Armor, and although i went the cheap route, ($45 for black plastic, compared to $125 for poly urethane ones) Im pretty satisfied. Only complaint/concern is that they stick out a bit much, but i'm thankful i wont have to worry about rock chips and driving through dirty puddles after just detailing my car.

rally mudflaps ftw!!!

I remember when I use to have color-coordinated mudflaps on my 1st honda accord. It gained 10hp because of this mod ... lol

Seriously these things are a necessity during the winter months.

 

Smart move. Save that paint!

 

Mudflaps are great paint savers! I did the same to our old X5 over Thanksgiving break.

 

i thought i drove through paint or something because of all the white spots on my back door. turns out i must of hit a really bad patch of gravel

thanks tom, i actually think i might get some for my dad's F250 he has out of the country, i noticed some RIDS and dirt behind the wheel wells

yeh Rog mudguards save a detailer from having a heart attack sometimes. they other day when i did a full detail on my car, i come back the next day and realize theres some fresh tar that my tire slung up. was not happy to have to clay all over again.

A good idea and I hate all the crap that gets on my lower panels as well, but they do look a little off IMO. But thaere's always going to be a tradeoff. I may get some too though.
