Alex @ Sharkwerks picked up this vehicle recently to have a daily driver which was sporty and comfortable, and he found one for the "Cheapness" but with the low pricepoint came some ....uhm issues... This car would end up needing close to 65 hours of work(90% of the car was wetsanded to correct the finish) even with that the front and rear bumpers were not correctable so a re-spray is planned. As the car came in.....does not look that bad at first in the sun.. Crud removal during the three hour decon/wash. Deep RIDS/Marring. 50/50 during initial cutting step. Hammered trunklid. First pass with Mirka 2000. After that pass, it was onto Mirka abralon 4000. Healthy readings after sanding steps. Rotary compounding with the "Woolie maamoth aka Edge black twisted wool".
Fruits of my labor.... Entire hood corrected, the only panel that was not sanded!!. Burning the "Midnight oil". RIDS and road film. Getting through to the hidden gem this vehicle will be. Spot sanding. Followed by correction. "B" Pillars as bad as it gets...... Coming back to life. Marred and shinked up re-sprayed rear quarter. Heavy sanding. O.E. texture and clarity restored. More sanding. After initial rotary cut.
Sun pics at the end of the "Ordeal".........Alex owes me bigtime(lol). Alex zipping away with a cheaper but "Superclean" S4.
Bumpers will need a re-spray(They were re-sprayed by the previous owner......badly, looked like someone used "Krylon"), once that is done I will finish sand/buff the bumpers as well.
Your posts are incredible. They make me feel completely inadequate at caring for my car. I appreciate that. It makes my OCD tick up a notch.
