Does anyone know what type of paint was used on 1972 Mercedes cars? Single stage, clearcoat, etc.? What would you do as an initial polish step on oxidized paint like this?
def single stage, unless its been repainted... if you just want to remove the oxidation, use a chemical paint cleaner such as Poorboys Polish with Sealant. Um, JW Prime... or any other AIO and a green pad should serve you well
I'd start with a chemical cleaner or else you will just gum up your pads trying to polish through that shit...
