I received a call from a forum member about some light scratches on his Mercedes so after discussing what it needed we booked it in for a single stage correction. After two rebookings because of snow, we finally got it in. Sorry about the noisy pics, I really need to work on my interior pics. Engine cleaned with AG Powermax3 Truck foamed with a combination of Powermax3, water and a shot of Poorboys Super Slick & Suds Washed with Poorboys Super Slick& Suds and wool mitt from RaceGlaze Inner fenders, tires & wheels cleaned with AG Custom Wheel Cleaner Dried with the Waffler from Werkstat - very nice towel! Clayed with Blackfire Poly Clay with Automagic Body Shine for lube Polished with Menz Power Finish on German Green CCS Paint cleaned with Werkstat Acrylic Prime on Blackfire applicator pad LSP was Blackfire All Finish Paint Protection x2 Interior wiped down with AG Interior Shampoo All leather treated with Lexol Exhaust polished with Autosol and Blackfire All Metal Sealant Tires dressed with Blue Dew tire dressing Total time - 12 hours Brand new 09 Merc ML63.....sweeeet!! All the jambs were still pretty clean as the truck was pretty new. These seats were amazing. The engine was a little dirty from all the salt and crud on the road. I love my foam cannon! AG Powermax3 with a shot of PB Super Slick & Suds is a great combo for a foam that sticks well and removes pretty much all dirt. EYEZACK sent me a couple of the brushes from Michaels. The one made in Germany was noticeably firmer than the one made in China. A much better brush for cleaning around emblems etc. As you can see, most of the damage was light marring from washing the car. Nothing major here. This was a little too deep to attempt. My fingernail was easily caught in it meaning it was a little too deep to attempt removing it. Interior was quite clean. As it was sunny out, I took the opportunity to take a few pics of a clients 400hp Boss Hoss I had in the shop. After drying. it was time for the clay. How bad could it be? Its a new truck. After the front fender and the passenger side front door This was the extent of the damage After polishing Prewax cleaner of choice today was Werkstat Acrylic Prime Applying Blackfire All Finish Paint Protection Exhaust tips were polished with Autosol and Blackfire Metal Sealant After 2 coats of Blackfire AFPP Thanks for looking.
Wow, thats a lot of contamination for a fairly new SUV... Great job Ken! Glad to see my brushes coming in handy
looks awsome!:applause: how are you liking the Blackfire All Finish Paint Protection compared to FMJ?
Nice looking SUV, can never go wrong with an AMG :druling: :druling: Great turn around too, I agree that vehicle had some serious contamination. Must have sat on the lot for a wile by looks of the clay bar Any who, as always nice results oh and I like how the exhaust pipes and all chrome finished off well done :thumb:
omg....the contamination:yikes:.... you really did a nice job:applause2:....i will definitely see you soon!!! jeffery
It was about 2 degrees out when I washed this. Even with two nitrile gloves on I couldn't feel my hands!!
The Blackfire seems to be a little thicker, and I mean just a tad. Other than that, it goes on just as easy and if you let it dry completely, comes off dead easy as well. I'm quite happy with it. With the Polycharger added into it, you should get 3-4 months out of a single coat. I still put 2 coats of sealant on though. Just me.
Awesome work Fanatic. For the noise, just use your tripod more. You can drop the ISO to 100 or so and then just play with shutter speed, with the tripod that way you have to worry about shaky photos. Great job:thumb:
Great work Ken! I see that you have implemented the Michael's brush into your arsenal, hehe. That's a small piece of clay by the way! I'm curious but why so small?
Thats all you need. I will cut a typical size bar into 4 or 5 pieces. As I use one I will really flatten it out. This way if I drop it, I'm only throwing out a small portion of the bar. Also, if it gets too dirty I can throw it out and grab a clean piece. Normally the piece is flatter and thus would look a little bigger. And regarding the Michaels brush, it did work well, but I much prefer a natural bristle paint brush. The bristles are way firmer and longer so I can clean around lug nuts and in door jambs a lot easier.
Great job the car looks perfect now. I had read your posts and seen where you used Poorboys Super Slick and Suds. I had a sample that I had never tried and figured if it was good enough for 911 then I'd give it a shot. Man did I love that stuff! Yet another great recommendation from you:thumb:!
