What Pressure washer do you have?

I go on here everyday, and I have come across many people talking about what pressure washer they should get, but I get very little information on it. so lets start a thread here by answering these questions I have.

I was in the same boat as you and I kinda just bite the bullet and picked up my pressure washer this morning before work. I'll let you know how it is.

Craftsman 2550 psi pressure washer

i use it to clean cars on occasion (sometimes just use the foam gun)

(PRO'S)

it's gas, has plenty of power and has been fairly good to me. Low maintenance as long as you change the oil and spark plugs regularly

(CON'S)

it's loud, bulky and sometimes can just get annoying after a while. Better i think to have if you are stationary working from home but works for both situations.

 

Unit: Karch K 2.360
I bought a karcher 2.360 on sale at wal-mart and have used it on 5 or 6 cars so far. works just fine. nothing special, but does the job and the price is right

Uses: I use the pressure washer for foaming, cleaning wheel wells and rinsing.

Pro: Fits the riccardo foam cannon using their K-series adapter. cheap

Con: hose is awkward as hell, doesn't want to wrap up nicely to go into my car. handle keeps coming off.

 

thanks guys, I loved to pick up the camspray electric pressure washer, but it requires a 20A circuit which kills the idea of having it. so im just trying find a alternative for it, either gas or a less powerful one. my price range is $100-$800

 

Best bet is the rigid pressure washer from home depot. Subaru engine with triplex pump like the camspray. They are 579 plus tax.

I think it's too powerful, and it doesn't say it has a triplex pump like you said. I'm also planning to use CRspotless with it too, so to play nice 2.0 gpm is the max for me.

 

I have a Karcher K6.25, electric washer. I use it to foam cars, rinse, wash wheels and wells. It satisfies all my needs basically, the only trhing is the hose is a bit awkward to reel properly. But this is a stationery washer so i dont mind it that much.

 

That cat pump should be a triplex pump. CAT pumps are what all the 'spray it yourself' places use and rely on every day. I'm not sure why HD says it's an Axial Cam pump (wobble plate), it looks nothing like that. http://www.catpumps.com/

It's got high PSI, but just make sure to use a 40 degree tip on it and you'll be fine.

DIC-10 CRSpotless is 2.5GPM max, and DIC-20 is 4GPM max. You are well within the tolerances on the DIC-20, and just out for the DIC-10. (But who uses that small puny one!)

Snap-On 2000PSI

Pro?
Brass couplings and fairly decently built. It's a rebadged Karcher. As pressure washers are mechanical, they ALL will eventually break down. The Snap-On I got was from Costco which has a lifetime warranty so when it does eventually break, I can return and get a brand new one at no additional cost.

cons?
Not quite 2000PSI....more like 1700PSI max, but plenty for my foam cannon and general washing. Might not be good enough if you want to do more with it than wash your car.

 

I have the Ridgid RD80763 (3300 psi/2.8gpm) and absolutely love it. It starts on the first pull and has plenty of cleaning power with the 25 degree tip. It has the Cat Triplex pump and Subaru OHV engine. The wand is super comfy too. Use it for cars, siding, patio, concrete anything that needs cleaning.

However, I have it attached to AG's foam cannon and do have issues making thick foam- just can't figure it out. I've tried various shampoos and even tried some crazy dilution ratios (50/50). I'm thinking that the PW either flows to fast for the cannon (the AG cannon is only rated to 2600 psi) or the hard water coming out of my external faucet is just killing my foam.

Don't mean to hijack your thread, just need some help too.

 

Ok, to add to this, there's another model with the triplex pump. (There's two different ones with the same PSI/GPM).. just the pump difference (or so it seems)

Just tried out my husky electric pressure washer and I think I'm fine with the pressure what its intended use is for. Plus it was in my price range too =)

 

get CRspotless DIC20, maybe it will help, I got mine and the foam coming out my foam gun is better.

Pros: not failed on me yet and does the job

Cons: as everyone says the stupid hose !

It's not so much the PSI that is bad if it was say 4gpm @ 3000psi then you might have a problem LoL. It just takes a little common sense and practice to use one properly.

From what i was told by one of the managers at Cat Pumps all their pumps are adjustable up the the rated psi of the pump. So in this case:

100 psi-3000 psi

that is what i was told.

Are you going to be mobile or out of your home?

 

Right, the 579 is Axial Cam, the 629 is Triplex (I linked to the Triplex pump Rigid). I thought the 579 Rigid was triplex too, but it seems I was mistaken. (I can admit that).

 

im planing to be mobile, and I looked into this unit here, very similar to the camspray but uses 15 amps

Manual says it needs a backflow preventer. Also water inlet looks like a quick disconnect?
