What is the one light/lamp you can't live without?

I'm currently trying to figure out if I'm going to buy a spotlight or a headlamp. I was curious to know which would be more useful to the weekend detailer.

So which one can't you live w/o?

Cool. I have been eye balling the HP11. Saw it at the (dd) shop and it seemed really nice w/ the various brightness modes. Need something to help me out w/ my white paint.

 

I love my HP11. My only gripe is the headband has seemed to have stretched out already and I can almost not make it tight enough. I like to use it in a dark garage on the lowest setting. Its almost too bright on the other settings and I end up getting a headache from the reflection. Other than that it is an awesome headlamp!!

Yep, I think lowest setting is going to be required here. A look at the TK35, its snazzy and pricey. I don't really need bright for white. I need something that will spot swirls.

Is the brinkman pretty much not suggested at all over a headlamp? I'm getting that feeling.

 

The Brinkman does really well. I had the Brinkman for a while until my garage was broken into and someone stole it

 

I guess you would still pick the headband light over the brinkman though?

 

I have a Spark ST6-460NW head lamp which I'm pretty happy with. It is slightly more front heavy than I'd like and as with mrgolfrider's Fenix the headband could be snugger/smaller. The light from the Spark, however, is really great as is the build quality and control function.

 

I love the headband LED lights from Fenix. There so useful and the less wires the better.

Streamlight TLR-1 HL, serves dual purposes. Just have to remember to remove it off the thing its attached to before I use it in the garage. Its 630 Lllumen.

I almost pulled the trigger on the HP11 yesterday but ended up going with this one instead.

The strap over the head is a big plus. It will help it from sliding down your head later on when the band starts to sag. I'm interested to know its run time since it has that large battery pack. I know my HP11 last about 30 hours on a single double A.

Yes sure makes it easy to see the dirt especially since it is hands free.

 

Is the hp11 or the ledlenser sufficient enough to see the paint defects for a 1-step polish?
or would you guys still use this with the work light and the brinkmann?

Should I get the Husky 1720 Lumen LED work light at home depot for $80 or get the led lenser H7/14 for around $40/70?

 

I have the same question pretty much. I would like to know what is the most versatile light.

 

I would say the headlamp. I love it because when I travel to do cars I don't have to lug around bulky lights.

I still use the Husky 800 Lumen handheld LED work light for general light.
